  • Water---> I've heard say that you lose weight quicker when you drink more water. (I'm no doctor so take this with a grain of salt) but I think the physiology behind it is two fold: 1) Water cleanses the body, removing toxins and harmful substances from it. This itself keeps your body running smoother 2) Well hydrated…
  • I feel ya, I've been in vet school for 2 years now and have started getting healthy since January... I really want to graduate with the ability to do any of the work required! Add me if you are looking for support :o)
  • Try to eat clean. For starters, throw out any processed foods (ie frozen dinners, pre-packaged pasta meals like Kraft Dinner, weight watchers meals) because they are very high in sodium. Sometimes they seem like the healthier choice because of low calories, but they are filled with preservatives... including salt!
  • Maybe eat full fat foods (which are better for you anyway) ie 2% milk, full fat yoghurt, some almonds. Eat whole grain foods as well, which have high fibre content and are super healthy! Snack throughout the day too!

  • feel free to add me :o) I'm looking to lose quite a bit more weight and will be around for a while longer :o) I love this site for the encouragement and support you get from so-called-strangers. Sometimes I feel like without my MFP peeps I'd be failing at this. They are all awesome :o)
  • I've been doing weight watchers (and MFP) for 5 months now. I was worried that I would be able to keep up logging on two websites, but honestly it has been worth it. I have kept MFP mainly because of the friends I had made here before weight watchers and I like to see if I'm overdoing the free fruits. I've lost 49.7lbs…
  • you guys are awesome... thanks for the encouragement and support!!
  • Thx everyone :o). I'm happy with my starting results ! I was nervous to share but I'm glad I did now :o)

  • how come they don't come up??
  • I'd try to zig/zag your calories!
  • Welcome to MFP. This is a wonderful website. It's helped me to lose quite a bit of weight already and I know I can find success in reaching my goals! Just make sure you give yourself rewards for mini goals along the way :o) Feel free to add me!
  • I used to dislike most veggies. And then I realized I hadn't tried very many!! I lived with a vegetarian and explored new meals. As I expanded my veggie experience I liked more and more of what I thought I wouldn't! Same with fruits! Maybe just keep on trucking along. I know V8 is an alternative to help you with you…
  • Eat foods that keep you full longer. Oatmeal with apples is a good option! Protein is good too, so having eggs (which isn't overly high in calories) would keep you fuller longer! Also, eat slower, you'll feel fuller with less food. Maybe eat with your non-dominant hand.
  • 1- I eat a healthier version 2- Eat it and be very careful 3- Compromise (say if I want a quarter pounder from mcds I just get a cheeseburger instead) Remember... the first bite is as good as the last :o)
  • Welcome to the website! It's fabulous :o)
  • Hey!! I feel like commitment and consistency are key to weight loss. I just keep measuring and looking at losses on the scale to keep me going! And I look forward to the smaller close I'll be able to buy someday :o) Best of luck!!

  • Welcome to life on MFP :o) It's a really awesome site. When I re-committed to it I had 135lbs to lose... I have since worked off 25lbs. Calorie counting really works, with commitment and consistency will really pay off. Good luck and feel free to add me if you need a buddy through your weight loss!
  • Thanks guys! I will maybe just wait until I get to about 220 and then see how I fair :o)
  • Hello, I'm with weight watcher and you are right, they don't count fruits and most veggies as points (ie starchy veggies still count). This is because they have there own ways of counting... when I'm on MFP I always count my fruits and veggies because this isn't a formulated system. Weight watchers allocates points to…
