  • I vote for the BodPod too. Just got it done today and my body fat% is 28.6% compared to what was measured using the biostatic impedance and the calipers measurement at 24%. With the test today, I realized I wasnt eating enough to maintain my metabolic rate and was increasing my body fat% although the weight was falling.…
  • I pay 49 bucks per month but I dont have a contract and cant stop anytime I want to. It is more pricey, but if I decided to stop using the gym at least I wont be stuck in a 2 yr committed membership.
  • If you are looking forward to gaining more muscle and reducing your body fat %, you will gain weight when you end up putting on muscle. So dont worry if you start gaining weight. Plus I wouldn't recommend going below 18% in terms of body fat. If you want muscle, do strength training and keep it up. If you were to go below…
  • I think Dress 1 looks the best on you, because it balances out your figure fabulously. It definitely shows the curves and shows the narrowest part of you too.
  • To get my body fat % to 18% and fit into a size 2-4 pants like I used to couple of years ago.
  • Just wanted to find out what to really rely on. For my monitoring and motivation to keep going, I am planning to take the higher number since I have been tracking that for the last couple of months. Thanks!
  • The PT took the measurements from 7 places ( I think, definitely more than 5) and he only took the measurements once though.
  • Just got my Polar FT7 HRM yesterday and I used it today morning when I worked out and according to my HRM, I burnt more calories than I thought I did during one session of PT. It also depends if the machines at the gym are calibrated often to make sure its accurate (+/- 20%)
  • Bump
  • So would you rather burn calories in the Fat burning zone or Fitness zone? When I do my cardio I push myself to go beyond my max HR for my age =85% of (220-age) to around 176 bpm. Which zone is better if you are trying to loose body fat% and gain muscle
  • I had shin splints couple of months ago that were pretty severe that it would hurt even with normal walking. So I had to totally quit running and did other forms of cardio. Last week ( after 3-4 months) of not running, I started back up and doing a gradual increase in speed and it has definitely helped. Planning on taking…
  • Would love to find my "twin" SW:127.6 lbs CW:120 lbs GW:115 lbs Age:28 yrs and height: 5'2"
  • Im in the same boat as you are. With strength training it does make a difference. I'm still in the process of geting one, but I can definitely see the outline of abs now but the pooch is still there but smaller. Hoping to work to get rid of it completely!
  • SW= 127.6 lbs CW=119.0 lbs GW= 115 lbs.
  • Welcome, I am 28 yrs old, 5' 2" and currently at 119 lbs. Dont really have a goal weight in mind ( through MFP it is 118 lbs) but want my body fat% to be 18 %. Feel free to add me to add to your motivation. I could use a few more accountable friends.
  • I have been on MFP since October and its been a great motivation for me to work my *kitten* off. So feel free to add me. Make sure your dairy is open so your friends can see it.
  • Thanks for the information! If I did my calculations right, my calorie intake is pretty similar to what MFP recommends for me.
  • I love asparagus! The best way I like it is to sauteed. You sautee olive oil and garlic ( diced) together until slight brown and then put the asparagus in there. They will turn a bright green and sautee them until your liking. Some folks like it crunchy in the middle and some like it fully soft.
  • Have done those separately. Not sure if I can do that together for that many reps. Good luck!
  • Heard that Jay Robb's whey protein powder doesnt have all the harmful ingredients that you see in normal protein powders and is one of the cleanest protein powders out there. I havent tried it yet because I dont like the protein powders I have tried and the Jay Robb's powder is a bag which is around 25 bucks. Not sure if I…
  • My hair is definitely growing longer but I feel like I am thinning it out (could be due the frequent showers I have to take after working out). Not seen a huge difference with my skin since recently I have mild eczema on my face and it goes through cycles of having flare ups.
  • 150 squats! Wow that is awesome. I usually feel the burn of squats by the time I hit 2 sets of 30 squats! Go girl!
  • I havent experienced being hit on either at the gym. When I am on a machine, sometimes I look at guys working to give me motivation to keep it going especially when I feel the burn. Gives me the motivation to keep going. But I definitely dont gawk!
  • Also remember when doing a squat your weight needs to be in your heels and not your toes. If you put it in your toes, you wont be getting the benefits of doing squats. You will definitely feel the burn.
  • Field Engineer for a medical device company!
  • The transformation is amazing! Keep up the good work!
  • Totally agree. I hate crowds and I go at 6 am. This month its crowded (compared to the normal crowd) even at 6 am. Hate to think how crazy it is during rush hours.
  • Thats awesome! Keep it up.
  • I am 5'2" and I put my profile as lightly active. According to MFP, I was supposed to average about 1200 calories without exercise. Since I eat about an average of 1500 calories per day, it pushes me to work out for at least 30 mins to get the extra calories I need to make up for the overage. If you haven't been loosing…
