Awesome job! You look amazing..I am trying to kick my carb addiction, but its tough!

Unfortunately I got fitted for shoes too. Love the shoes as they relieve the stress my feet were exposed to, but my shins still act up:( My body cant keep up with me, I feel like an old woman.

First of all, I wish I was as tall as you are! Maybe my weight would distribute evenly:) What I am struggling with is my body fat % even though my weight is dropping. So trying to get myself toned. Oh btw, I am 5'2 and currently 121.5 lbs.

I'm 28 so feel free to add me too. Love to help people reach their goals and help them push me too.

I tried it and it definitely gives you a workout. Granted I wasn't in the best shape when I tried it, so the following days I was so sore that I could barely lift my hands above the shoulders. Now that I am getting better with working out and strength training, I might try it again.

Not sure if this will help, but I thought it was interesting. I always run with my heel hitting the ground first. Maybe that is causing shin splints. I am going to try this out. http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/08/22/running-properly/#more-10407

Welcome to the world of Chronic Shin Splints. Well, I wish I could have warned you earlier. I tried to run through it and have made my shin splints worse. Here are my personal recommendations: 1) Stay away from the treadmill or running/jogging for about a week. In the meantime, use an elliptical or something to get your…

Thanks for the great suggestions! I just think my downstairs neighbors are crazy cos they have a problem with 2 mins of jumping jacks that I do in between my strength training circuits. All this is during a reasonable time( in the evening at 6-7 pm)! Even the Insanity DVD was a 20 min workout and they knocked on my door to…

It all depends on your feet ( if you have flat feet etc..). As you end up working out more, it will take a toll on your feet down the road. So do to ****'s sporting goods or any running shoe store and get fitted. Initially I thought spending 100 bucks on a running shoe was ridiculous until I tried them on and they felt…

Comparing the Ft4 and Ft7, which was is more accurate in the calorie burn during a workout? Have a hard time deciding which one to get.

If you have to be at work at 7 am, try doing it before that. I used to be a late owl and never thought that I would be able to wake up early in the morning to work out. But once you start and get used to it, you have more energy during the day and once you get home after work, you have all the free time to spend with…

Awesome! Beleive me, you will be running faster on the day of the event. The kick of adrenaline and all the cheering during the race will definitely pump you up. Good luck! Just make to rest on Friday before the race and not wear yourself out.

Dessert! Heck, if sugar was not a problem, I would skip meals to eat dessert.
-
Good job on that! Have you tried the store bought CPK thin crust pizzas? They are the only ones that doesnt have a gizillion calories in it. Its great for portion control and to satisfy your pizza craving. I allow myself to it once every 2 weeks.

Hey! I am 5' 2.5" too and when I started MFP I was at 127.6 lbs ( which is the heaviest I have been) and felt extremely sluggish. Plus I found out that although my body fat % was within normal limits, it had definitely increased in the last two years. I have working out consistently for the last 2.5 months and seen a drop…

Thanks! All the sugar is actually from Fat Free milk as I make my lattes at home with Truvia and instant coffee powder. Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks! I am not trying to lose weight but body fat %. For me, I have realized decreasing sugar intake is the key for me to acheive my goal

Tried it with almond milk and hated the taste of almond milk heated. It tastes more nutty. At times I do a 50:50 mix, but it doesnt have the same taste. thinking of doing a 50:50 with skim milk and water.. Does anyone else have craving for something sweet? My vices for dessert are the fiber one brownie packs ( it will do)…

Does the pain alleviate while sitting or walking?
-
Oh by the way, does anyone know how MFP calculates how the sugar intake goal is supposed to be? Mine varies during the week.

CONGRATS. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Havent tried Zumba, but this should be fun.

Does the pain go away when you walk around and not sitting around? If so, its muscle cramps. I had hamstring cramps from barely doing anything intense. Here is what worked for me: Eat bananas, it helps with the level of Potassium in your body. Take 2 days off and the cramps will resolve before you hit the gym again. If it…

It all depends on you. I am 5 2 and they say I have an allowance of 1200 calories. There are days I eat under ( thats my problem!) as I end up slowing my metabolism down so much that it doesnt kick in and I have days when I work out that I am always hungry. I would suggest looking at your nutrition too. When you are…

Sue, It all depends on your body and your metabolism. If your metabolism is low , although you cut on calories and stick to the daily amount, it burns the same as before you were on the diet. You have to find ways to revive your metabolism. Try walking or some form of exercise. This increases your metabolism and your body…

If you are busting your butt, more than likely you are losing the body fat and gaining muscle. When you gain muscle and lose body fat, you dont see much of a weight difference on the weighing scale. I would say instead of focusing on calories, look at the sugar level intake of your foods. If you sugar level is above what…

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do for Shin splints? I used to run and even did a 5K twice. Recently my shins have been worse than before and I have tried all the methods out there including avoiding running ( doing the elliptical etc..). But somehow when I get back to running , it somehow creeps back in and the…

I would say that if you have been eating a lot of sugar, decrease your sugar intake slowly. Otherwise in a couple of weeks, you will have a craving that might destroy all your hard work. Even things like skimmed milk has 11 gms of sugar! So personally I have been slowly replacing skimmed milk with almond milk in slow…

I made some with the French Vanilla Betty Crocker recipe, used apple sauce as replacement for oil, added 2 tsp of pumpkin spice and 1 can of pumpkin puree. It tastes really good but didn't give me the pumpkin bread consistency I was craving for. But it tastes yummy!
