  • I'm in the same boat!! I was at a great (scale-number) spot at the beginning of December and was just SO, SO happy with my diet/weight-loss. Then my birthday came, Christmas (and Christmas cookies)...I'm just a few pounds up, but they have been HANGING on and I need to crack-down on my grazing, snacking eating. It is NOT…
  • I love the Orowheat sandwich thins...like a blank canvas for lots of leftover possibilities: ground turkey sloppy joe mix, turkey cranberry with light swiss, leftover roasted veggies with a little fat-free feta cheese, tuna salad with lite mayo, stir-fry leftovers. The "thins" themselves are only 100 calories with 5-6…
  • Excellent post: any change you make for the better is just that, a change for the better. It doesn't have to be voluminous to make a difference. Those little changes add up and gradually change your mind-set for the healthier, best you!! Take good care and keep up the mindful, good choices. (o:
  • That when I'm in there, I'm always making something for my family (from scratch).
  • Beautifully written and thank you!
  • I look at that as the "wiggle room" needed for not exactly getting every, single calorie accounted for... I try to aim for at least 100 below (not including the "exercise calories") just for the margin of error fact. Good luck!
  • I agree with this one...just focus on eating "whole" foods; things unprocessed and fresh. Drink tons of water (I drank lots of milk too), and the weight will come off. Don't eat for two, just eat good foods. This time is totally precious and it's one of the few things I'd actually go back and do all over again...love my…
  • I'm VERY glad to be finding myself in the same predicament. Fall (and rainy weather) came quickly to Southern California this week. Found myself with NO jeans!! Raced out to Target and bought one cute pair, that I can't afford another. Might check out a thrift shop too. Great idea... Congrats!
  • Here's a different take on the Salsa Chicken: put three boneless/ skinless breasts (frozen) with bbq sauce in there for 6 hours on low. Shred the chicken and serve on whole wheat buns or Sandwich Thins (orowheat). With this, my kids have Trader Joe's oven fries, but I will have a small mini-salad with 1 medium tomato…
  • I use chicken or turkey sausage; much leaner.
  • I try to remember how many calories it will cost in exercise. Now that I've been journaling my food for nearly 3 months, I have a fairly good idea of what something will "cost" me before I look it up. So one innocent looking cookie on a plate at the office or in my house could be 250+ calories. That's a lot of sweat from…
  • I use Wii Active More, but just enter the minutes and calories of the completed workout as stated on the screen. From what I understand, if you've input your accurate height and weight figures, the calorie count is pretty accurate. I try not to eat back all the calories; just in case. My goal is to eat back half (or less)…
  • Wow, tons of great posts and info here! I would count myself in this category; I'm about 7 pounds from my goal weight. That weight, however is just some mythical number that was my weight before and after both of my pregnancies. Being 41 now, the pounds are much harder to shed. I really appreciated the info on women and…
