I personally think that 1600-1800 calories is decent. The key is WHAT you eat. Your food should mostly consist of lean proteins, good carbs, and good fats. A lot of people are going to say that you can't really gain significant muscle on a caloric deficit, some people go on leaning/gaining periods but now that you're…

Once a month, measurements are more important than the scale :)

We need more women like you. Feel free to add me, I train with a powerlifting champion, so it's lift hard or go home:)

OP, read what I posted a few days ago. This will give you a better understanding. It's pretty hard to gain significant amount of muscle, especially for us women. You can eat at a calorie deficit, lift weight, and not BULK. I believe you need a caloric surplus in order to put on the muscle lbs.…

Strength training: squats (use heavy weights), lunges with some 10lbs weights in each hand, leg presses, leg extensions. My trainer makes me do 50 lunges with the weights, around the track. If you want to lose the weights during lunges, you can try something she makes me do: lunge and kick, alternating legs. You'll be…

The second post covered all the bases I believe. I LOVE yoga, I practice Power Vinyasa, Power Yoga in a heated studio. I've tried Bikram Yoga and dislikeeee it sooooooo much!!!!! I can do it for a week, after that it's so boring for me, same poses all the time! Bikram Yoga doesn't cover many things I like to do, like…

1) lower your sodium intake! You can do this by eating "cleaner" or less processed "ready to eat meals". Try to keep it at 2k max and drink tons of water. You can easily lose 5lb of water weight doing that alone 2) eat more but stick to clean and lean foods, lean protein veggies, etc 3) you can eat more carbs, just stick…

I honestly think it's a combination of things. First, our way of life and consumerism has developed our behavioral patterns. So people are more inclined to get something "fast and cheap", which are usually fast foods. We ultimately have the choice to choose better things but media and lack of education definitely plays a…

Try jamie eason's chocolate protein bars: http://www.eatcleandiet.com/the_kitchen_table/recipe/recipe.aspx?id=570 I usually add Greek yogurt to the mix (more protein) and spread some peanut butter on top (healthy fats) before eating them yummers!!

I think that being determined is a great thing, both personally and professionally BUT I do have some friends that take it to the extreme like going on a never ending guilt trip bc they ate a damn cookie. THAT is not healthy, no pun intended.

I would agree with increasing calories if you're hungry but also try to eat whole grains. I usually eat less carbs and more protein and fiber. My carbs/fat/protein are set at 40/20/40 so I usually eat around 160g of protein AND carbs. Carbs are usually from whole grains, which keeps me pretty full! Feel free to add me and…
