What kind of work environment do you have? Could you blend at work if there was a cheap blender you could leave there? The reason I ask is that we got the Oster Blend'n'go cups - they were about $12 from Walmart.com. Oster Blenders are about $5 at a secondhand store, or $15 or $20 online, and the base is "almost" universal…

I'm curious why you'd have such a high protein goal daily? I'm pregnant and need 80-100 grams daily, but can't see 142 unless you're doing extreme body building!

Wow, what perspective that gives, especially visually!! Thanks for sharing that, /bookmarked for sure!!

Now I'm gonna have to get stuff for Reubens, sounds sooooo good!! Yeah, I've been just nuking mine before I add it to my sandwich, and when I hit subway (except for the one time I forgot to ask/think about it :grumble: ) I just ask them to double-toast my meat. Turns out yummy!! Also agree with previous posters - pb&j, egg…

UGH, I soooo feel for you - I just took the 3 hour glucose tolerance test last week..... 12 hour fast, 4 1/2 hours for the test...slept in and went in later than I intended, plus a winter storm that added time to my drive.... :noway: ended up not eating for a total of 18 hours, which is a struggle with the new snack-habits…

Beautiful!!! You've done a wonderful job!!

Two words: Snack Baggies. hehe :drinker: Grab whatever "healthy" snacks you like.... baby carrots, celery sticks, lowfat cheese, wholegrain crackers, almonds.... make your own snack mix with raisins/dried fruit, cheerios, nuts, and carob chips mixed together etc.... then package them into "serving size" portions in the…

I am sooo impressed, congratulations on all your hard work and FABULOUS results!! Wishing you all the best in the next year with your fitness goals and GIRL MUSCLES!!! Woooooooohoooooo!!!! :drinker:

Just a tip for those of you trying to figure out if your insurance covers your pump - mine does... and the odd thing is it's covered under "Durable Medical Equipment". So if you're talking to a customer service rep who's just looking up "breast pump" on your coverage list, it's not going to help ya unless they check your…

I had a playtex nursing bra with my last (who is almost 6 now..... so it's been a while since I purchased/used/needed it) that I LOVED. It was an "underwire alternative" and had really strong cording in place of the underwire, so it was supportive, kept it's shape, was easy for access as it was a nursing bra, and I loved…

I have three I use on my (android) tablet, and in order of personal preference, they are: Baby Bump by Alt12 (have the free version - but LOVE the forum capabilities. Most of the forums have a bunch of idiots, lotsa teen moms, and dummies who want to be induced because they're "tired of being pregnant at 35 weeks" etc....…

I wish I did! We're still researching infant seats..... we have a convertible, but want an infant carrier. Bumping so I can see any answers you get!

I'd ask your doc and make sure - even knowing it's laparoscopic, folks have different healing/pain/recovery times. Better to follow recommendations and go a little slower than to overdo it and have recovery take 3 times longer.... Good luck getting back up to speed again!! :flowerforyou:

Can't wait to try this, thanks for the recipe!! :drinker:

^^ this - keep reading folks in this thread saying "It's all good between consenting adults" bla bla bla..... but those kids, however many they are, are NOT "consenting adults". It affects them, too.... *shrugs* Apparently my ex "forgot" or was "confused about the law" cuz he married someone else years ago while he was…

500-600 cals in a day for any HUMAN adult is stupidity. Unless you're 5'0", don't go under 1200. It's not hard, it's not rocket science. As Robin said a few pages back, EAT DAMMIT!!! And 1200 cals doesn't work unless you're sitting on your butt all day, which it doesn't sound like you are. Log your exercise, eat your…

Em, how far along are you? Chances are, you have more time/patience than a quick dr's visit will allow at times..... I've been able to find our baby's heartbeat long before our doc would even try (he's used ultrasound, just not the doppler yet). If you get the right probe (3.0 instead of 2.0, it's easier to hear a tiny…

RBX: I've never heard of Jersey Mikes or Jimmy John's - how do they make them that's different from the norm? Gotta love that "taste of home"!! Mmmm, pumpkin fluff - Thanks for the recipe! Hmm, wonder if I can make it with normal whipped cream? Not exactly healthy/low cal that way, but..... :ohwell: Hey, I managed to pass…

Jay: Not wanting an April baby? Our daughter's birthday is April 2nd (not a fool! LOL) and she's hoping she doesn't have to share the day, but is very excited about a new little sibling. And I'm with you, so nice to have other March Mommies here! :drinker: Iluvhorses: Congrats on your first, and good luck on Friday! Can't…

I was looking, and was going to start one too if I hadn't seen one by now!! Thanks for starting this up, Beezbee! :) Is your first a boy or a girl? Rose, what did you end up figuring out for your sinus headaches? MrsH - I'm STILL feeling sick, and hoping it will go away soon and not hang on the whooooole pregnancy.... in…

Yep, I've been doing the "nuked", grilled, pan-seared, you-name-it route.... tried the double-toasting of a turkey sub at subway the other day and it was soooo good, almost satisfied my craving (REALLY wanted a cold-cut-trio, but dont' think t hat would heat very well!) I'm a sandwich fanatic, so it's been tough! Luckily…

Gonna have to try this for sure! Maybe with some black olives and green onions tossed in... mmmmm hehe

15 weeks and down 2 lbs.

I lost 4 lbs, gained back 2.... so I guess overall, I lost 2 lbs in the first trimester? Sounds like such a little amount, but it was really REALLY stressing me out that I was losing..... now I'm not so stressed about it.... I've added to my intake, still trying to eat MOSTLY healthy (don't always succeed, but I try!) and…

Awww I'm soooo very sorry *hugs* Hoping for some peace, comfort, and strength for you as you go through this.

Don't stress. It'll come. You can't "target" one area, but losing overall is a great thing. keep it up, and congratulations on finding something that's working for you!! :)

Beautifully written, beautifully done. Congratulations on your JOURNEY, and on learning so much about your own inner strength. Most of all, thanks for sharing. Inspirational! :flowerforyou:

Hello Ladies, I'm officially (I think?) 2nd trimester.... great to see you guys! :) Have our next appointment in a few days, looking forward to hearing results from NT scan & coordinating tests. Hope all are doing well! :flowerforyou:

Yep, great posts above, I got the same "ok to take while pregnant" sheet, very helpful! For a sore throat, what worked WONDERFULLY for me was gargling with very warm salt water. It did more in a day and a half than all the rest of the stuff I tried.

There ARE gummy prenatals, but I wasn't impressed when I compared them to my normal prenatals (I use the Target Up brand as well, but the version that has the DHA too... the two-bottle combo pack.) Some people also chew 2 flintstones, but I'd check with my doc before doing that! :)
