  • This was summer 2011 I have gained a bit since then but I am back on in with a vengeance now and sure to be back there soon. Here is one from last summer but it doesn't really count, lol This time of year though I am more commonly seen like this
  • Love making "meat" out of nuts, I have to try this recipe!
  • Welcome to MPF! I wish you all the best in your health goals. I haven't had as much to lose as you but I know that it can be discouraging when you have quite a bit to lose, but remember that it is a long road and every day you can take steps to get to where you want to be, and no matter what, never give up!! You can do…
  • Hey there! I am also from Canada but the other side of the country (near Vancouver). I wish you all the best in your health and fitness goals. I have been vegetarian for the past two years and now I am working on eating cleaner and less dairy. Feel free to add me if you would like to be pals :)
  • I use Vega and it has Maca in it and I have never noticed that it made my booty bigger. I have a decent sized one as it is and I haven't measured or anything but I don't think that it makes a difference to the bum.
  • I know how you feel but don't let it get you down. As the rest have said, enjoy your new little one and soon you will get to a healthier you. It takes time but each day gets you closer to your goals if you stick to it.
  • A whole wheat pasta with a home made sauce can be good, I sneak in extra veggies that my son won't eat by using my food processor. I keep sauce in the freezer so it's always at hand. I usually do a bunch of cooking once a week then I have leftovers to spare.
  • I heard about this on the radio yesterday, it's pretty silly!
  • I read the ingredients on it and I would not use it because there are some things in there that I avoid. http://healthyfamiliesforgod.com/2011/12/more-ingredients-reveal-more-dangers-with-visalus-products/ **ETA just noticed this link is a religious website, but there is scientific data on there too. However replacing a…
  • I don't drink milk, can't tolerate it, I have recently been looking into going Vegan and watched a documentary called Forks Over Knives and there is compelling evidence in there not to eat dairy for many reasons. But everyone makes their own choices and it is all about moderation. I agree as well that almond milk is…
  • You look wonderful! What an amazing milestone!
  • Love seeing all the kitties!!! Makes me want a third, maybe I can talk my bf into that, he loves them too I have never posted pics on here before but let's try it out. The kitty in my ticker was my first cat and sadly he passed Oct 2011 to a heart defect but lives on in my heart

  • I love beards! My bf can grow a great one, seems that below the ears it grows great but above not so much, but he looks awesome :glasses: However he can't grow a really good beard because of his job, but one day. . . I am getting my own beard as well, all kidding aside, might be time for lazer hair removal before others…
  • I go to the gym at 6am, none of the resolutioners are hard core enough to get up that early!
  • Try googling Thrive Forward, it is a plant based clean eating approach.
  • I have several reasons, including but not limited to: environmental concerns, ethical concerns, and my own personal health. I find that it is easier to avoid things like fast food when my options are limited this way as well. Finally I just don't care for the taste of meat all that much, and now that I have been vegetarian…
  • I just don't understand why meat eaters are so threatened by people who choose not to eat meat. I don't pick on them for their choices (out loud anyways, lol). I have been vegetarian for the past two years and rarely eat eggs (unless they are in something like a cake, or mayonnaise which I shouldn't be eating anyways) I do…
  • Sounds yummy everyone! I forgot my breakfast today but at least I have some raw almonds here at the office so that is what I had. 15 almonds, 105 cals
  • 9 minutes is better than 0 minutes, at least you gave it a go! And it will get easier with time, keep at it!
  • I didn't have a stellar year this year as far as my health is concerned but I did do a few things to move me along the way on my journey. I read a couple of books on health and fitness that have taught me more about the things I want to do to make myself more healthy (Thrive Diet and Thrive Fitness are the two main ones…
  • Here is a link to one that I have made before and it is pretty yummy! I need to dust off my crock pot and cook something yummy up! http://www.fullmeasureofhappiness.com/2011/03/07/meatless-monday-moroccan-lentil-stew-crock-pot/
  • Excellent transformation!
  • Sent you a request, 2 years as a veggie for me. I am leaning towards vegan but I do enjoy cheese, although I almost never eat eggs (unless they are in a yummy cake but I shouldn't be eating cake anyways, lol)
  • I have a fitbit (although I haven't been able to find it since I moved but it is in the house somewhere, lol) and I do find it to be a very good motivator and something that you just put on each day and forget about. It syncs well with MFP and I love seeing the extra calories that I have earned on there. Also I like the…
  • Generally it is not a good idea to skip meals as it might make you overeat later on in the day. I find that my body works best when fed smaller amounts more often. Also usually we are less active later in the day so your body has all this food "fuel" and nothing to do with it. But I'm no scientist, and even they always…
  • I am from the Vancouver BC area, so great to see so many Canadians on here :) Feel free to add me!
  • I have been eating more vegan foods, although I haven't yet been able to give up cheese completely there are health benefits to a vegan diet and I have been reading a lot of the "Thrive Diet" books and educating myself about that lieftsyle. As for cauliflower, I have made a mash with them that is very yummy. I steam the…
  • I don't know much about these shakes, but I am not a fan of multi-level marketing so I know they are not for me. However I do take Vega shakes and I bought a cheap shaker cup with an insert inside that makes it easy to mix them in and it is convenient to replace a meal when I don't have anything healthy handy or for a…
  • Another option would be to carry the dock in your purse so you can use it in both places, that is what I do when I want to check it at work. You can use the same cable on as many computers as you like.
  • I think that everyone is different and that the quality of the calories counts as much as the numbers. Focus on your healthy habits and you will find the right amount of calories for your needs.
