You log your activities on Myfitness pal and make sure to add the time you did the activity. This will keep the fitbit site from counting your exercise calories towards your other daily calories burned. But the rest of the day will still be factored in.

I think you are already on the right track. I find distraction is helpful. But it works best when you do something enjoyable. If you distract yourself with a chore you need to do, it will not be nearly as effective. I also found calling someone just to chat for a while and boost your mood enough to lessen the desire for…

Did you happen to give up diet soda? When I did that, I had a horrible reaction. It made my head foggy and in constant pain for a few days. It was quite miserable, but once I go through that everything was fine. This may not be your situation, and not everyone reacts the way I did, but I just thought I'd throw it out there…

I ate a donut today and I'm not sorry about it

There are a ton of workout videos on youtube as well. I'm sure you can find something you enjoy doing on there. You could also get a little trampoline fairly cheaply and jump on that whenever you have time. I used to do that while watching TV. Sometimes I'd throw in hand weights while doing it as well.

I eat in segments. For example, if I have a burger, mixed veggies & a salad for dinner, I'd eat the entire burger before starting the veggies, and all the veggies before the salad. I do this all the time and always have. Didn't know if was weird until others started pointing it out.

....until the scale doesn't drop like I think it should. Then I get discouraged and don't follow through on my diet plans.

vegetables are helpful. They are very low calorie, packed with nutrients, and the fiber helps you feel full longer. I like carrots dipped in hummus and I try to add veggies to each meal whereever I can. I found it helpful. Also, for me, refined sugar is a huge trigger for eating without end. Finding your triggers so you…

Social eating. It's hard to say no when you're pretty much expected to eat something because it's a birthday or holiday or whatever. Half the time I don't even want what they are eating, but feel like a social outcast for not joining in. That, and visiting my in-laws. They equate food with love and are relentless in…

I'm looking for a good way to season scrambled eggs. I usually scramble them with onion, green pepper, mushrooms and tomatoes and have used pepper or italian seasoning, but have been unsatisfied with the result. Any suggestions?

I'm not a makeup person either. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but I grew up watching my mom spend so much time putting it on and taking it off and panicking over someone seeing her without it or wouldn't go swimming because her face would get messed up, etc..., I just never wanted the hassle. My mother was…

Do you find that stevia causes a blood sugar spike? I'm trying to avoid that as much as possible.

I think it depends on why your doctor put you on the low carb diet. If it's just to speed weightloss, I can't see why those types of carbs would be an issue. You might lose weight a little slower, but they should be okay otherwise. But if it's another reason, then you should probably stick to what your doctor recommends. I…

I like the running belts. They don't bounce around and stretch enough to fit large phones. I also use a light jacket with zipper pockets so I don't have to worry about anything falling out. Not sure if that would work for you if it's getting warm though.

Thank you to those of you who answered the actual question. I got a lot of good information. For the rest of you, I'd like to put on the record that I regularly eat more 1800+ calories a day, its just that after all my workouts the net calorie intake is around 1100 calories. I actually wanted to see if I was getting enough…

I'm not strictly low carb, but I am low processed foods. Alot of my meals can be tweeked to be low carb so if you'd like ideas you can friend me and take a look at my food diary. I've also done atkins a couple times before so if you'd need someone to tak to abou it, you can always PM me. Good luck.

There are a few things you could try. You could try replacing your sugar foods with sugar free versions or healthier/low calorie versions. Fruit can be helpful for this. You could try cold turkey and use distractions to keep yourself from eating those sugary foods. You could also try changing your mindset, which is what I…

Well, here is my experience. I have done the atkins diet twice. Both time I did lose a lot of weight but was quite miserable while doing it. The last time I did it was about 2 years ago and I lost 25 pounds in 3 months. After that I switched to counting calories and have continued to lose weight but at a slower and…

I would suggest finding something you enjoy doing and find a friend to do it with. And on days you don't feel like doing it, do it anyway. Even if it's just 10 minutes. Most likely, after 10 minutes you'll want to finish your workout. One other thing that worked for me is creating a little poster with pictures representing…

What if, instead of looking at your calories daily, you take them weekly? Just make sure by the end of the week, your average daily intake hits your goal. That way, even if you go over one day, you'll have the rest of the week to burn some extra calories or eat a little less and still make your weekly goal. This might help…

I don't know of any pills, but eating lots of protein and minimal sugars/starches works to keep my appetite in check.

Keep in mind that your body is burning atleast 1200 a day one it's own. This is the amount of calories someone in a coma might receive just to keep their body functioning. You should be netting enough calories for your body to function each day in order to keep your metabolism reved up yet still lose weight. Any less than…

Most of my advice is the same as everyone else has already suggested, but here's one thing I do with my husband. I look up brand new recipes that are in line with my eating goals but would be appealing to him as well. We both win with this approach. We get to try new things, we get to enjoy the same meals, and we're both…
