also In the brochure by Les Mills about BODYPUMP it says you can burn up to 600 calories a class. As the others have said though, a lot depends on who you are!

i use my hrm and i burn between 500 and 600 a session... if you guys burn around 300-400 maybe its time to up the weights.

what worked best for me was group classes like body pump taebo etc . body pump can be really hard if you put enough weights on the bar :D and thats what helped me the most in my transformation. also the sens of competition on being in this with other ppl helps (for me at least)
