I upped my calories to 1300, and last night I was able to sleep!

I am now set for 1200 calories a day to lose 0.9 pounds per week. I usually end up between 1250 to 1320 calories and I work out every day, doing 30 day shred that burns about 190 calories. Isn't it true that your body wants to stay the same weight, so you get hungry when you are cutting calories until it gets past that set…

I agree with the protein and fiber together. I keep a stash of hard boiled eggs in the fridge for snacks. Yogurt also helps a lot. I would go with a piece of whole wheat bread-make sure it has 4 or more grams of fiber and an egg. Sara lee bread is great because one slice only has 45 calories!

I have to chime in here. No, I do not have that problem, but I was on anti-depressant meds and gained 50 pounds. Maybe they did cause an increase in appetite, but I counted my calories and worked out for 3 months and didn't lose one pound. myfitnesspal set mine to 1200 to lose .9 pounds a week. I usually eat 1200 for about 3 days and then go up to 1400 on the 4th day which is maintenance. Then I go back down to 1200.

This research isn't very well controlled. The people lost weight all sorts of differetn ways. We know that the atkins diet causes your body to starve. Great everyone! I am going to start tomorrow! I am watching video diaries of people who have done it on youtube. It looks really successful! Sounds like first 3 days will be hell, but we can push through! I will create the group tomorrow. I guess we will all post our starting weight and meaurements if you want.

I am sucking. I keep eating. I am on a break of sorts, so I am getting really bored and just cooking and baking. The hardest part is that when I cook, its so hard to figure out how many calories are in it even if it is healthy that I just give up counting and of course overeat.

My experience is if I eat 1200 for 4 days, I can lose weight, but then my body is starving and the next day is a binge day. Its better it start a little higher and lose the weight a little slower than reversing all progress by starving.
