  • I joined this group a few weeks ago, but thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 25 year old attorney who just moved to Logan, Utah to work as the Chief Diversity Officer for the state university located here. My partner is a political scientist who will begin work at the same university this fall. I joined MFP because after…
  • I've been on depo for about ten years now. I'd be weary of a doctor who tells you that depo causes you to eat more because it's tricking your body into thinking that its pregnant. The latter part of that statement is true: depo works by putting your hormones at a level that they are at while pregnant, which ceases…
  • Hello! I'm in a similar boat. I'm 25 approaching 26, and I started here in October. I started Couch 2 5K shortly after joining this site, and I was religious about it until Christmas. I was also religious about logging my food until about the same time. After three months of working pretty hard at it, I had lost about two…
  • YES with All My Life and The Pretender from Foo Fighters (I'd like to add Breakout). Other favorites of mine: Transplants - Tall Cans In The Air, Diamonds and Guns, and DJ, DJ Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff, N 2 Gether Now, Just Like This Cage the Elephant - In One Ear, Ain't No Rest for the Wicked Metallica - Sad But True,…
  • Hi! We're pretty close! I'm currently at 159, trying to get down to 150 (more importantly, be a comfortable size 8). I'm also 25 and somewhere between 5'6" and 5'7'!
  • Also, take measurements instead of looking at the scale. My weight hasn't fluctuated much (4 pounds in three months, really) but my pants size has! Also, where I was getting dangerously close to kankles, I now have defined calves and slim ankles. It's not all about the scale :)
  • Wow, that's awesome! I've been at it since November, and I just can't imagine what a 10K would be like. I've completed 5Ks in the past, but never with a time that I've been proud of. I would love to work my way up to a 10K, but man... it seems so far off. Congratulations on your accomplishments!
  • Thanks!! When you were finished with the C25K program, did you move on to another program? I know I've still got some time before I finish, but I like the motivation behind having a set schedule, and am wondering where to go once I'm done with this.
  • When I first joined, my calorie recommendation was 1610 as well (5'7" and 160 pounds, set at losing .5 pounds/week). I was thinking what the hell, all the packages say 2000 calories a day!! But after a few days of trying to adjust, I did just fine. I recently decided to look at what my calorie allotment would be if I…
  • You have to go to your settings, and then to your diary settings. Indicate that you would like your diary to be shared with friends (or public, if you wish) and from that point forward they will be able to see your diary. Your friends will need to do this as well for you to see their diaries.
  • For breakfasts, I like to make cottage cheese and fruit for the entire week on Sundays. Half a cup of cottage cheese, and half a cup of fruit! My favorites are strawberries and blueberries... I think they stay fresh longest. Mango is also really good. I suggest staying away from pineapple and bananas if you're making it…
  • I used to hate cottage cheese. Really, really hate it. But after using it to make some killer mac and cheese and having some left over in the fridge, I gave it another try about ten years later. I mixed it with some fruit (blueberries, strawberries and mango are my favorites) and viola, I had a new breakfast option! I do…
  • I just wanted to say that I know how you feel, law school is bad for your overall health (I'm only slightly kidding here!). I gained maybe ten pounds in law school, and then another five over the course of two states of bar exams. I'm only just now trying to lose it. When I was studying for the Bar, I got stressed out at…
  • My apologies... I think I was unclear. I am wondering if any users have *particular* pouches/clips that they really like, and if so, if they wouldn't mind sharing which ones those are. I have looked through a lot of them at Amazon.com, and basically am just trying to decide which one to buy. (I am open to going elsewhere…
  • That's what I was looking for! I was wondering if folks had favorite sensor storage devices... I see a lot on Amazon, all with good and bad reviews.
  • So where do you store the sensor?
  • I've only been at this for a little over a month now, but I sort of know the feeling. I started jogging and tracking foods, and I weighed 160. Yesterday, we had our work weight loss program weigh in, and I have GAINED 3 pounds. But, the day before the weigh in, I had a lot of sodium, so I am convinced some of that is water…
  • I second the flavored water, tea, and green tea approach. When I started college, ALL I WOULD DRINK was Pepsi. I thought tap water was gross, and I thought bottled water was expensive. I started dating a guy who had recently quit soda, and I could tell I was tempting him ordering Pepsi, so I decided to stop, too. Peer…
