I don't think you're being unreasonable. There's a trail system that runs through Omaha, that I run on. The portion of the trail close to my house is not problem...the cyclists usually announce they are passing you. However, when I run on my lunch break near my work..also near the college, they rarely announce they are…

I look forward to watching your progress in your journey. Seems like you have the right mindset to be successful.

I was going to suggest that...Hmm. This happens to me sometimes, too. I think it's usually when I don't have a good cool down, though.

Love it!

Edward Norton in American History X. Without the Swastika and white power tattoos. Even though I'm a software engineer, I apparently lack the skillset to get an image to show up in here...

I just happened to stumble across this link after reading your post.... http://www.livestrong.com/slideshow/551454-the-20-most-intense-workout-songs/?utm_source=articlebottom&utm_medium=1#slide-21

That was 1 week of weight loss? That's amazing! Don't want to run your friend down, but that's a real crappy thing for a friend to say. I would have had a few choice words for anyone that said that to me. Anyway, don't be too discouraged. As some of my younger friends say, "Haters gonna hate" You have a support system here…

I thought it was going to be a geography test....

Thanks everybody. It's still just tough to wrap my brain around this.

I'm definitely listening to the doctor. It just bums me out.

Not sure why msjessiebug hates it, but I think it's a great DVD. JM is relentless.

Having either one of my boys run their hands across the top or sides of my head. I wear a flat top haircut and it feels cool.

Thanks!

Hydrate. That always helps me. Water, powerade, gatorade....

When you setup your profile, you entered you weight, activity level, and weight loss goal...let's say 1 pound per week. MFP then gave you a goal for calories. I'm not sure what you weight is, but for example 1300 calories. That number already has a 500 calorie deficit built in. So, if you hit that number at the end of the…

Blind Side Michael: Is it mine? Leigh Anne Tuohy: yes sir. Michael: Never had one before. Leigh Anne Tuohy: What? A room to yourself? Michael: A bed. Chokes me up.

Is there a significance to the decimal representation of that number? 3405, or hex D4D?

People are quick to blame teachers and school systems. It starts at home. Every time I contact my son's teacher via email, she ends the email with "Thank you for your continuing support." That shouldn't even need to be said. And it's not just this teacher. Same thing with his teacher last year.
-
I'm not attacking you, but I hear this quite often and I just have to say that this is not the case with my son and his school. He's always been held accountable for his school work and his behavior, both by his teachers and at home. Not all children are a-holes and not all schools allow them to be.

I have my first Half on May 6th as well. I've been following a training plan I got from "Smartcoach" on www.runnersworld.com. I love it so far.

Good info. I need to do more incline stuff when I run on the treadmill. I got spoiled in December and January with the weather, but now it looks like we have to pay for 50+ degree days in January. Stupid snow.
-
Exactly! What am I going to do...walk home? I can manage about 3 miles on the treadmill without losing my mind...
-
I'm an avid runner and since I've been training for a 1/2 marathon in May, I've noticed that I tend to run at a faster pace outdoors, than I do on the treadmill. Seems odd, but I will frequently find myself running 15-20 seconds per mile faster than what I planned to do when I run outdoors. Whereas on the treadmill, I set…

I was only kidding. I can see it. Hell, I am old. :-)

Chris Cooper the actor? Sheesh...he's old

I'm getting better at the midfoot strike, but it seems like I revert back to my old form after a while. I've read that is does take some practice to run like that all the time.
