I don't know how to fix it, but look up Chi-Running. I'm still trying to get this technique down without buying the products. The guy talks about shin splints in one of the videos I found on Youtube.

I weigh in every Friday, and every Friday I update my fitness profile so that it recalculates my calories.

Anything but run. I've done some P90X workouts, a lower body workout I got out of a dumbbell workout book, rest. It just depends on how I'm feeling.

Check out www.runnersworld.com. You can register for free, then find the "Smartcoach" under the training tab. There, you can build a training plan for whatever distance race you want. I'm currently using it to train for my first 1/2 marathon. It's really cool.

I wear a heart rate monitor. You can pick up a decent one for around $80. At least, that's what I paid for mine a few years ago.

You can also try Power 90 (P90). It's the precursor to P90X. Definitely doable for a beginner. http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/power90.do

Is that Oklahoma and Oklahoma State? Or Oregon and Oregon State? Must be Oklahoma...I can't imagine an Oregon State fan doing anything to call attention to themselves the way their season is going.

Eat your exercise calories. I know this seems counter productive, but not eating them is keeping you from succeeding. Somewhere on here there is a "newbie" post. If someone knows where it is, please put the link up.

I'd recommend finding a shoe store that will fit you with a pair of shoes that suits your needs. NB are good shoes, but they might not be the shoe for you.

Remember, MFP builds in a calorie deficit based on your weight loss goal..eat back your workout calories. If your net calories is 0, that's still a 500 calorie deficit if your goal is 1lb/week.

Hmmm...I would recommend going to a shoe store. For instance we have Peak Performance stores here in Omaha, they do a good job fitting people for shoes. You said you have inserts for your shoes. Are they custom made orthodics? If not, you might want to consider seeing a podiatrist.

My younger brother has it and likes it. His only complaint is with the Kinect cameras...I guess you have to get them set just right and have to be careful about where you go during game play.
