Lol I just found an article online about itis vs osis... Doesn't exactly sound like what he described, but I see points that sound similar. I don't know really. He said that because of my young age & physical condition that the fibers will regrow a lot faster (like a week)? He kept comparing me to an old inactive person.…

When he told me it was tendonosis, I said "I've never heard of that before. What's the difference between that and tendonitous?" He said : "tendonitous is an acute injury.. So it could be that you were doing 400s on a track, and the next day you can't walk.. It usually comes on really quickly and the muscle is really…

That's good to know. I hope that it is actually healed/healing instead of just masking some internal problem only to come back again :-/
-
I don't have pain anymore, but if it comes back in a few weeks, I suppose that would be a good idea.

He sees a lot of runners. He is a competitive runner himself. He told me it occurred overtime because of all the marathons. He said that it's pretty common.. However, he at no point during this process told me to rest or take time off... In fact he actually told me that running 2x a day shorter distance would be a good…

Sports medicine. He has been doing a lot of ART. He sees a lot of runners. I am just surprised that moving my leg around doing ART has magically healed me in 2 weeks.

I think it was caused from my last marathon which a big elevation change putting a lot of extra pressure on my quads & not recovering properly.
-
Taper getting to you?
-
Chronic.. Likely overtraining. It flared up a week after my last full which had a 1400 ft elevation change was tough on my quads, and I don't think I recovered properly!

Do you have a sensitive stomach? I typically don't, so whatever liquid they serve at marathons or ultras, I just drink it. I don't really "train" with anything but water. I'm not advising you do this, but if you typically can eat/drink stuff without having issues, I wouldn't worry about it or overthink it. However, this is…

I get 500-600 out of my shoes too.

I usually find that during a 5k, I literally don't have time/energy to even look down at my watch. I look at it during the first 30-60 seconds to make sure I'm not going too crazy fast. However, I used to look at my garmin A LOT during 5ks, and I found that I would "give up" if I saw my pace drop. I say, flip it upside…

Depending on the weather for me really... BUT usually over 2 hours, I like to have water.
-
Lol even when I'm not sick, I've failed to complete workouts. Get better soon
-
I don't see why you wouldn't PR! You'll be golden! Have fun!

I get those sports bras from lulu lemon with giant pockets. I think they are called "stuff em" lol. However, they are like 60 bucks, so I only have 2. I save them for my long runs. The rest, I'll hold my phone :\

My thoughts exactly. I was convinced it was a stress fracture. Sily me :-)
-
I like this plan but I'd say you'd be fine even cutting that 20 down to 15-16
-
How do you know it's a stress fracture without going to get an X-ray/bone scan/MRI? I'm lost

Hmmmm.... My mom was about in your situation, and I had her training for a 2:15-2:10 range for a half.. But she is 52 with no fitness background. She really struggled with the long runs.. What was your time when you ran 13 miles?
-
TC 5k 18:58 :-) :-) 20+ sec PR. 2nd woman out of like 1000 I think?
-
Hmm. I got down to 5:40ish with just 35 miles per week for about 9 months.. Lots of speedwork.. Easy/recovery runs inbetween speed work sessions.
-
I agree. Even if I ran for 3 hours straight, I don't think I would hit 2100.. And that's running at 7.5-8.0 miles per hour
-
Why do 3 hours of cardio a day? Are you training for and ironman or ultra marathon? I don't understand. Doesn't not compute.
-
Hmm. I'd say lower intensity...
-
12-14 sounds about right. It really depends on your mileage. In the taper it might be 10, 8 then 6 the week of.

I would say this is pretty common to feel. I remember feeling this same way on my first. Sounds exactly how my first marathon went as well. It did scare me, but the next one was better. I think I still feel that joint pain but I just ignore it. In my first ultra I felt like I was a 100 years old. My joints killlled! Lol in…

I once listened to a podcast of an ultra marathoner who was 3% body fat. He said he had enough fat to sustain him for running across the entire United States. More fat is definitely not more efficient. Also, it's completely common for runners to feel like you are "hitting a wall" on those first few marathon training long…

Personally, I think you should do 16, 18, 14, 10 That being said Katie Holmes ran a 5:30 didn't she? My brother can ran a 1:25 half (6:30 pace) but ran a 4:55 full...
