  • Good Saturday afternoon all and welcome to the newcomers:flowerforyou: Today I did a 4 mile walk/run with running 2.25 miles and walking 1.75. I count this as my trying something new exercise because I was able to push myself to run the extra .25. Normally I would have stopped at 2. Water, no problem:drinker: :drinker: I…
  • The challenges are great. I'm not going to count the water as a challenge because I drink more than that every day anyway. I usually park as far away as possible at any place I go but have gotten lazy lately so it's good to be reminded of this one. Also, taking the stairs is good for me. I don't have any stairs in my house…
  • Today was my first official day for this challenge. I did Week 1, Day 1, Column 1. Set 1 - 10 Set 2 - 12 Set 3 - 7 Set 4 - 7 Set 5- 10 (minimum was 9) I'm going to do this on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and start Week 1 again on Monday since I only got one day in. Regarding the two questions, I don't have the answers…
  • 5.4 miles on the elliptical tonight.
  • Thanks, MM. I saw that you had been doing the situps challenge but the thread ended in Feb. That's why I was wondering if anyone else was doing it because I didn't see a current thread. If there isn't one, I might just start one.
  • Is anyone here still doing the two hundred situps challenge?
  • I'd like to join here. I just did my initial test and did 17 push ups on my knees. So I will be doing Monday, Wednesday Friday and taking weekends off (starting tomorrow) with week 1, column 3.
  • I decided to change the distance I want to travel. I live in Northern California and have decided to walk/jog/run/elliptical to Ocean City, Maryland. The distance from my house to the Ocean City City Hall building is 2,889 miles so I just rounded up to 3,000. I'm hoping to get there by the end of the year.
  • I'd like to join this group if it's not too late. I read all the posts and everyone lost so that speaks volumes for the dedication of this team. My starting weight is 156.4 and my short term goal weight is 135 but I'd like to be at 120 by summer. I already drink in excess of 2 liters of water so that challenge isn't a…
  • I decided I wasn't going to stress about my dinner party and just to go and have fun. And I did have a blast. Woke up this morning thinking I might have gained but I'm still at my same weight. Only a half more pound to go this week to make a one pound loss for the week:happy: Had 5 asparagus spears and 10 peas (which were…
  • Thank you so much for taking the time to translate this information for us. I really appreciate it. I'm going to give this a try as I want to see how what I want to weight, what the trainer at the gym told me to weight and what this calculater gives me compare.
  • Welcome to the team:happy:
  • Good job:drinker:
  • Welcome:flowerforyou:
  • 4.25 miles today, 2.5 jogging and the rest walking:smile:
  • Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. This morning I went and did a jog/walk for 4.25 miles. I jogged 2.5 of it and walked the rest. I am starting to feel really good about the distance I can jog each time before having to stop. I'm up to a mile now and am working on trying to go just a little bit more each time.…
  • Good job on the weight loss. I'm sure you're very excited about it. My dh and I have our 26th anniversary on Wednesday. We probably won't do anything till next weekend.
  • 5th:bigsmile:
  • Thanks, sassie. I'm going to stay at 1200 (although today I was at 1122) and see how it goes. For the green challenge I had 1 and a half cups iceberg lettuce and 1/2 cup fresh spinach leaves. If pickles count as a veggie, I had 1/4 cup. I did 20 minutes of ab work (2 10 minute dvds). I'm a little concerned about tomorrow…
  • Welcome, newcomers. Good job everyone. Tonight I did a 3 mile walking dvd. I was going to do the treadmill at the gym but it was so busy that I ended up just leaving.
  • Thanks to those who responded to my inquiry. I think I'm going to have to take my cue from sassie who has been doing phenomenal and not eat back my cals. We'll see how that goes and hopefully I won't be too hungry:grumble:
  • No, it would be in addition to. So I will count that towards the challenge. By the way, I forgot to mention above that the gym trainer told me to keep my calories at 1200 and not eat any exercise calories. Now that goes against what they suggest here so just wanted to get some opinions on that. I'm thinking I'm still going…
  • Well, as promised, here are the results of my gym appointment. I'm putting this all out there for the added motivation (by the way, did an hour on the elliptical). My weight is going to show higher because it was not my normal weighing situation so I'm not letting that bother me. Height - 5'1" Current Weight - 159 Current…
  • That's great, sassie:flowerforyou: I can't wait till I get a double digit on my ticker! So, for the challenge, would you count a workout video that does standing ab work?
  • Did 5 and a half miles on the elliptical tonight. Was told by a trainer at my gym that I need to switch up my workout so I think starting Monday I'm going to use the treadmill.
  • Yeah, I kinda figured it was something like that.
  • So, the harder your heart has to work at rest the more cals you burn? I'm really getting confused on this whole thing as I'm just learning but I want to learn as much as I can to do the best thing for my body. I'm still going to message you, I just haven't had time to develop the questions I have for you.
  • OK, it took me a while, but I think I finally got it. If I understand correctly, last night I did 65 minutes on the elliptical (including cool down) and burned 895 calories but should only enter 845. So, basically you should just subtract 50 from any workout you do. Am I right? Is the 50 for everyone or is there some way…
  • Great:bigsmile: I consider you a great wealth of information so really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.
  • Thanks for the respose. If you don't mind, I'd like to message you to get more detailed information on what you have explained?
