  • Since I don't like cake mixes, I just looked online for black bean brownie recipes and came across this one: http://happyherbivore.com/2009/05/vegan-blackbean-brownies/ I think I'll be giving this a try :)
  • I don't add sugar to my food and only have it in my strawberry sorbet, so sugar in fruits is something I never think about. I have no problems with natural occurring sugar, fat, protein, etc :)
  • http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/ http://vegandad.blogspot.com/ http://twoveganboys.wordpress.com/ Those are all vegan but they have great recipes. I am guessing you are trying to go ovo/lacto vegetarian?
  • I am pretty sure I've seen a group for that on MFP but cannot remember right now what it is called or else I would search for it ...
  • Tucking a shirt is a HUGE NSV! Congrats! I'm no tucker either, so I understand how big that is (and I am looking forward to reach that NSV at some point, too!)
  • Sorry for all the posts. Don't know how to do the multi quote thing :) I am eating vegan. To be exact, I am eating a healthy, balanced vegan diet without added oils. I was ovo/lacto vegetarian before and wasn't eating very healthy. I was in need of a nutritional balanced diet (as what I was doing was obviously not working…
  • And this is funny why?
  • Nope. Not true. There are plenty of people following a vegan diet (not the vegan life style), meaning they eat vegetarian and not eggs or dairy. I am a combination of both. Life isn't just black and white :) There are lots of shades of grey.
  • I am from Germany and will visit family there soon and have already encountered problems just talking about it. My mom is freaking out what to cook so I'll end up doing some cooking there most likely :)
  • What a great and motivational post! Love it!
  • It happens. Don't let it get you down! Weight fluctuates so much, even on a daily basis. I've done workouts, eaten well within my calorie limits and gained a pound last week but the week before, I hardly worked out and lost 2.6 lbs. Give it some time. Only suggestion I can make is reevaluate your calorie intake to make…
  • Very emotional story! You've done amazing, running and weight loss wise! Congratulations on both accounts!
  • You have changed your life and for that I congratulate you. The change in your body is beyond words. You look absolutely fabulous! I don't know you but I am very proud of what you have accomplished and it is extremely inspiring to read your story, much of which resembles my own life. You've come such a long way and I just…
  • You've done amazing! And you look fantastic!
  • Google Periformis stretch. That stretch is the only one that helps me through the days. I do it several times a day and when I cannot walk anymore because of pain it is the only thing that will help me. It stretches the muscle that spasms and pinches the nerve. I've also started to do Pilates and now added other core…

  • Ha! That is so me! When I last tried the elliptical I felt as if I was going to fall off! Stuck to the treadmill ever since  Congrats on having it mastered and enjoying it! Great job!
  • ^^That! All things in moderation.
  • You look absolutely fantastic! Congratulations on your amazing weight loss. BTW, I love the last picture - too cute!
  • Yes, that's my problem as well. I've been trying to find other stretches to help with that tightness around my tail bone but haven't found anything yet. The only thing that seems to help a little is the "roll in a ball - knees to chin - arms wrapped around knees" exercise that seems to stretch the lower back somewhat. So I…
  • I always just cook for myself as my husband doesn't like my "healthy" food ;) I would cook several servings and freeze them or save them for lunch next day. I usually double my recipes and freeze portion so I have food available for weeks and don't have to cook more than a few times a week :)
  • ^^^ This! I do this every day. I also try to strengthen my core muscles and Pilates but this stretch is the only one that helps me to move again without pain. My entire lower back is very tight and since I've been working on strengthening the core muscles it flared up several times but I am hoping that in the end it will…
  • Runner's Trots: http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/injury_archives/trots.html
  • I think that's what I am wearing  I only bought it because it was for a good cause the entire amount goes to one of my favorite good causes. I just googled balance bracelets and noticed that's what it is :ohwell: If it is for balance it sure does not work.
  • Once I fit in one :) I've bought one a few weeks back and once it fits well, I'll wear it but only at home ;) For public use, I am hoping to fit into my tankini with shorts again - better start looking for it soon. Haven't had a chance to wear it in about 5 or 6 years :)
  • I walk only on my treadmill, so I am able to read. Never thought of reading but once I ran out of DVDs to watch I gave my Kindle a try and it worked great. The time went by so much faster and I had no clue how much I was walking as I was so caught up with my book :) If I was to run, I would go back to watching DVDs again.
  • bumping so I'll find it again later. Thanks so much for posting!
  • I enjoy them as a healthy snack. I use my scale to get the exact serving size and prepare for the day ahead. The only real problem with nuts (except for allergies) is that it is so easy to over eat. That's why I don't bring the entire bag of nuts along. They are a great protein source :)
  • Suggestions: 21-day Vegan kick-start (have a FB page) Dr. Neil Barnard's cookbook "Go Healthy Go Vegan" --- The book focuses on eating a healthy, balanced diet without any added oils. I hardly ever eat any tofu. Sorry about breakfast but I eat oatmeal, so I have no better suggestions. Lunch and dinner: salads, rice, beans,…
  • Fantastic job! Congratulations.
