  • Great job! This is simply fantastic! Don't worry, even if it won't go as fast anymore, you'll get there!
  • I've got the Fitbit Charge HR since January. I've owned two different HR monitors but had bad luck with both of them, the second one not really registering my heartbeat well unless I put the strap on in a rather odd way. Anyway, when I saw that Fitbit came out with the Charge HR, I was excited. So far I really like it. My…
  • I felt it was easiest to get vegan cook books. Most of them have sections in them about nutrition. This is the most important part about any healthy life style is to eat the right things. Just had that talk with my mom because she had read that it is easy to lose weight with plant based food. I learned a lot while reading…
  • I do the easy 3-2-1 dressing: 3 teaspoons balsamic vinegar 2 teaspoons mustard 1 teaspoon maple syrup Tastes great, no oil and low in calories :)
  • Welcome to MFP. Best of luck to you. It'll be hard but you can definitely do it. Just think of how happy you'll be once you actually can see the weight loss. Celebrate every size down you get. Great advise so far. All I can add is to be really true to yourself. Log everything and don't let life get in your own way (well,…
  • I've read his book as my mom has really high cholesterol and I don't want to go down that road. I am actually just following his recipes (plus those of Dr. Neil Barnard from the book "Get Healthy, Go Vegan"). I have a friend on MFP who has had good success with this approach. I really believe that you can do it but even…
  • Go Healthy Go Vegan by Dr. Neil Barnard :)
  • I just did my third zumba class last night and I am still not really having the hang of it but I just jump and hop along. As soon as I move my arms, I mess up the steps. I felt really silly after the first time and it has been getting better. I look at it that way, it's a nice way of exercise. I like music and I like to…
  • Just look at the source. It's a blog. Anyone can write a blog. I take those things a serious as anything you can find online :) He does make a good point, though, do the homework and don't fall for advertising. That goes pretty much for everything.
  • It's a picture of me. It's real. As real as a 4 year old sees me :)
  • Nope. Don't care what my friends are either. I love having something in common with friends, so that's why I stated that. I've got plenty of other friends who I have much in common just not veganism, religion, or politics and we still get along great. I think you just took my comment wrong but with internet that's just a…
  • Yep, definitely not a scientific survey, so don't put too much on what you read on a fitness site. It would be the same as if I told you about all the people who commented to me how much they loved Europe and would rather live there. Doesn't mean anything either :)
  • So glad to have you as a friend :)
  • That made me laugh. At least you are getting it, too! So far I've only encountered nutcases the other way around and been put down for my choice of food. That just proves that crazies exist in every group. I wouldn't go around telling people what they should eat, nor do I ever comment on people eating meat in front of me.…
  • funny thing is ... they may be right? How about that? But seriously, you've got to look at what they are talking about. I am sure there are plenty of countries who have the US beat in specific areas, just as the US has plenty of other countries but in other areas. People seem to forget that logic and pride are different…
  • LOL - sorry but that just made me chuckle. I never considered leaving my home country was abandoning it - hehe
  • I moved from Germany to the US. Did not have a job lined up but did some babysitting for 4 weeks (wouldn't really count that). Visa paperwork took over 1 1/2 years to get approved and I had to wait in Germany to join my American husband until it finally got through. I was lucky enough to get a job within a month of moving.…
  • All the weight I've lost so far is by going over on the carbs and under on the fat and sugar :)
  • ^^ That! I would be beyond pissed. I hate cooking and if whatever I cook ends up being thrown away, I would be livid. It was a great gesture on your end that you went through the trouble of cooking for him (it's not like you are his personal chef) but I wouldn't be cooking for him for a loooooong time.
  • I use some pea protein that does not have anything added to it, so it tastes rather bland (think cardboard - hehe) but it doesn't bother me.
  • Good. I hope you did ovulate :) I've heard of lots of people using Femera successfully. I've used Clomid for three cycles but my docs didn't do any ultrasound along the way, so I never know what it really did. I ovulate on my own but cannot get pregnant, though everything got checked out just fine. Has your husband been…
  • Nope, not crazy at all. That was my first thought, too. You look so much fitter than you did back then and wear those dresses better now. You've done an amazing job and looking absolutely fantastic. And I am glad, I am not the only one holding on to old clothes ;)
  • Sorry, after spending too much time on TTC sites, I've got all that weird lingo down - lol Are they going to check your progesterone lever at 7 DPO to make sure you did ovulate and whether it is high enough? They are correct in terms that you won't need to spend money on testing yourself if they are checking up on you.
  • If you don't track ovulation, you may want to start. Easiest would be OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) that tell you that you are about to O (they don't confirm it, though). In addition to that, I would suggest to track your temperature (fertiltiyfriend.com is a free online tracking site) as that is the only way to pin…
  • Nope. There cannot be any preggo symptoms at 1-4 DPO as the implantation doesn't even happen until later (6-9 days? I think). What you are experiencing are the symptoms of increased progesterone that starts raising right after you ovulate. I can feel sore boobs as early as 1 DPO. Also, you may notice different symptoms…
  • Yep, picky eater is the worst. My kiddo will not try any new food and in the meantime she suddenly refuses to eat food that she did eat :( I even baked cookies with her (sugar cookies) and she loved the preparation part but once it came to eating she even refused to eat those (but she loves the store bakery sugar cookies).…
  • True :) It again comes down to eating reasonable amounts of everything. I completely stopped tracking my sugar intake since I hardly ever add actual sugar and only get it in my daily sorbet snack :) Edited to add that I can't see the picture :(
  • Probably true if you use a lot of sugar but I've been using the same small bottle for quite some time now, so to me it's not much of a difference :)
  • I've never looked into the calories especially since I don't think you can compare 1 tsp of sugar to 1 tsp of agave syrup. I've used it to make chocolate milk and ended up with less calories than with the store bought chocolate milk. I know it's not a scientific comparison but I prefer the lower glycemic index than regular…
