The birthday girl and her cake

Thanks!! I am really pleased with how it turned out - I did change plans a little as I'm not that great at covering ball shapes with fondant, so all the leaves around her are covering up the gathers of fondant that I couldn't seem to get rid of. I don't do it professionally, but would love to one day (at the moment I'm a…

I'm not sure if I classify as a 'new Mommy'! I have 2 kids (both girls) aged almost 3 1/2 and my baby turns 1 on Tuesday!! I've almost made it to the end of my weight loss efforts, I've so far lost 17.3kg which is 38lbs and have around 2.5kg to go (about 5.5lbs). My biggest dream is to continue to be a SAHM but…

I want to lose 2.5kg (about 5.5lbs ish) it would get me under 70kg for the first time in about 10 years!! Also it would get me to goal before I finish my maternity leave and have to go back to work.

Take a tin of any kind of fruit (plums are really good) and drain the juice, then freeze the fruit. Put the frozen fruit into a food processor and blend up until smooth, add back a little of the reserved juice until it is the texture you want = instant sorbet!! Also blend up frozen banana and add any other frozen fruit you…

I'm in NZ so this might get lost in translation!! I used to have Vogels bread with vegemite and then put a potato fritter (complete with tomato sauce) in it as well - it was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted!! I don't do it any more - probably a very good thing!!

I can't remember who wrote mine: A ship in harbour is safe, but that's not what ships are built for. and When you get to the top of the mountain, you'll look back and see how low it was.

I sometimes add cleaning as an exercise, but not generally (with a 3 year old and an almost 1 year old I clean constantly!!). I only add it if it has stopped me from doing my usual exercise, for example if we are having a birthday party or something at our house and I spend hours cleaning from top to bottom then I might…

Before = About 90kg (198lbs), During = About 75kg (165lbs) I am now 72.4kg (159lbs) but don't have a current photo.

I think that you should use real butter instead of whipped (that would probably double those calories) and add avocado to your lunchtime salad, use real oil in the dressing (olive oil or rice bran oil - something that fits in with your healthy eating philosophy). Basically try to up the calorie content of the meals that…

Hi there, I've had great success doing bootcamp style workouts which you can easily do at home. I have also done The 30 Day Shred, but lately have found doing a bootcamp workout is better as I can put a movie on for my 3 year old to keep her occupied while I work out. I have also bought 'You Are Your Own Gym' by Mark…

Licorice tea tastes really sweet.

It sounds to me like you've made definite progress!! Make sure you keep on going - I find it is the keeping going that is the main thing. In terms of getting your 5k under 40 minutes - you are SO CLOSE!!! - try doing interval training while running/walking (the technical term is fartlek training) it is the thing that I…

Yes, so it means you have to eat extra to get up to 0 (if you know what I mean!!)

Self crusting quiche 1/2 cup self raising flour 1 tin whole kernel corn (drained) one small onion (chopped) 2 eggs 3/4 cup milk 1/2 cup grated cheese (I use tasty cheddar - but I'm in NZ and I know American cheese is totally different to ours!) 1 large tomato (sliced) paprika Put the corn, onion and cheese in the base of a…

If you look at the nutrition information for some of the breastfeeding options on the food database they have worked it out for you. eg: Generic - Breastfeeding Exclusively Servings: Calories -500 Sodium 0 mg Total Fat -16 g Potassium 0 mg Saturated 0 g Total Carbs -50 g Polyunsaturated 0 g Dietary Fiber 0 g…

I bought a Polar F7, and the absolute cheapest place I could find in NZ was here: http://www.fuelme.co.nz/shop/heart-rate-monitors/ I love my F7!!

I damaged my back (years ago lifting an outboard motor - but that's another story!!) and I was given exercises to do by the physio, they are great and I have done them ever since. Firstly the superman - lie on the floor on your tummy with your arms out above your head, try to lift your arms and legs off the floor at the…

Just keep on going! I'm now down 17.3kg (or 38lbs) and my tummy is just about gone (my poor stretched out skin is another story). I've found that the inches don't disappear in a logical progression. I lost in my legs, then my arms, then my bum, THEN my tummy (most frustrating, as I had a really hard time finding any…

I'm naturally blonde and naturally pretty bald  so I don't need to. If I did need to I think I would though...

Sorry if I'm repeating other posts (I haven't read them all!) I have double tracked for quite a while (the new ww points and mfp) and have found that on mfp you should track fruits and vegetables. With weight watchers it seems that they have given you a base amount of calories that is about 300-400 lower than mfp, but when…

Hi there, I am a Mum too (not a Mom though  but only because of the country I live in!) also we are the same height!! Feel free to add me if you want. I log in every day and am coming to the end of my weight loss journey so I've worked out tips and tricks that work for me and I'm happy to share (for example I now…

Remember you still have the 500 calorie deficit as a buffer as well! You could not log your 200 calorie snack and use up all the rest of your calories and still be 300 in deficit for the day. Or go for a walk and the 200 will be gone in no time.

I've had 2 babies (10lbs 3 and 10lbs 4) and my stomach has improved hugely since I've lost some weight (37lbs so far) and have been doing bootcamp type workouts (oh and the 30 Day Shred). I have about a million stretch marks so my skin is pretty much ruined, but the stomach underneath is getting there. I have seen some…

I got whistled at today while pushing my baby in her buggy!! Maybe they were whistling at her, she is pretty cute

Running for me - it makes it worse for about 15 minutes (but then the first 10-15 minutes of a run is always hard!!) and then after that it is fine.
-
I had them at first too, but it went away after about a week and I didn't get them with any other level. For me it wasn't shin splints, I think it was just my muscles complaining after having not done anything for such a long time and then being jumped up and down on.

Wow! That is amazing! You almost don't look like the same person!!
