Hi I'm vegan, I get my proteins from beans, tofu, lentils, chickpeas and nuts. Also make up proteine smoothies with vegan protein powder. I've actually found it easier hitting my goals since becoming vegan. My fave after workout meal is butter bean and sweet potatoe chill, can be served with anything you like. Let me know…

Thanks for the ideas! Oh and agree about the weight gain, I've gained weight at vegan food really is sooooo good!!! Looking at prepping everything is advance now and cooking from scratch. I'm excited to see changes!

do you do interval training? That can help with speed? And yoga too to stretch and tone muscles, just keep going and it will fall into place.

I just started 6 months ago, doing my first marathon in 11 weeks, its amazing how much there is to learn about running. But like everyone says, first thing is the shoes, I waited too long to get mine, I now have a horrible bruised toe. I found using a running app helps and keeps you motivated. Good Luck

Thats fantastic, very insperational. Ive went from no running to being able to run 45mins straight no stopping in 5 weeks, I do yoga and pilates on my rest days too.

Thanks for everyones sugestions, Im going to order the books and track down as good shop for shoes. I know it seems crazy to do a marathon first time but I like a challange and Im all or nothing kinda girl. I have signed up to do it, got my place and will be doing it. I have a trainer at my gym who makes up my plan, I see him in a week when my plan ends and see what he says, as Im new to this. Thanks to those who have sujested books and website, i have made a note of them all. :o)

furthest i have ran is 8K and I add .5k on every week with the plan I have just now.

yeh your mayberight, I just seem to have it in head that it will be horrific and it will put me off doing the marathon which I dont want to happen!

My marathon is 25th May 2014, I have time and have been regualry excersicing, but for runing. Im training on my own too, I get a bit intimidated by the running experts who just want to tell me I can do it!

I was worried about the time factor, but the guy who dose my programs at the gym seems to think i can do it. Right now I run 4 times a week, a mixture of interval and distance.

its May next year. So I have time and started training. Its something ive always wanted to do as personal achivement, Im scared a smaller race will put me off.

I got a freya one, its nice and wide in the back and gives you great support, you dont move at all. It done make you a funny shape tho so I wear a supoort vest over the top also. x

ive been trying too loose weight, i think all my life, but really really trying the past year. Its horrible as its really getting me down. My weakness is chocolate, but Ive really cut that down. Ive been trying protine shakes. I feel tierd all the time too :o(

hey, im a kind of half vegitarian, im not as keen of meat, i dont like the texture. I will eat chicken sometimes. I love quorn meat substiute. Have you tried that? Id also like any sujestions on veggie food. xxx

I totaly agree with you! Its not caused by food! NO WAY! BUT There are foods than can help, after batteling with it for years and been on loadz of differnt meds, I found changes in my diet can help, junk food definetly puts me on a downer, and high sure and "refined carbs" not complex card send my mood up and down.…
