Good for you! You're not alone and I think you'll find MFP to be a great tool to use in your road to health!

❤️ Thanks!

Hi all, I'd love to join in! I'm recently back to MPF and am trying to focus on not only losing some weight, but also health goals. Alcohol is a huge pain point for me, and I simply don't moderate well, especially with wine. My goal for now is to be AF until next week when my husband returns from his Army duty. We've…

Thank you! I agree, tracking leads to success. I've ALWAYS had success while tracking, which makes me wonder why I struggle with it so much. :)
-
Thank you! I like your suggestion to reframe things and reward myself if I do. I'm definitely going to give that a try next time I resent tracking!

I've used both, and for me, they both work for weight loss if I follow the plan. However, with WW, I feel that they almost penalize you for healthy foods (like nuts, avocados) by giving them so many points. I like being able to see all of a food's macros so I can decide for myself if the food is healthy. I still have my WW…

I've counted macros before, and it does work. I just haven't done it in a long time (and that's why I need to lose weight). I sent you a friend request.

Same here! You can friend me if you want. :)

Hi! I've been on MFP since 2011, but I consider myself new here too, just because I haven't done it in so long. I 100% understand where you're coming from and am in a similar boat. In the past, I've found having MFP friends who pay attention to your updates really helps a lot with support and accountability. I'm going try…

I used a CGM for a couple months to learn how different foods affect my glucose levels. There's PLENTY of research coming out right now that shows how high levels of insulin affect your metabolic health. Metabolic health is a spectrum, usually starting with a high fasting insulin level, continuing with a rising blood…

I don't really owe my fitness to him, but he sure likes to keep me company (and keep me safe!) on hikes!!

I'm 46, 5'7" and weigh 146. I really want to lose 10 pounds to get back down to what I consider my attractive weight. I'm looking at 50 here in just a couple short years, and I want to get there in shape!! I could also use some more friends, if anyone is interested. :)

McKinney (yeah, the nice little town all over the news right now...)

I had bilateral mastectomies, so I'm not much help there. However, I can tell you that the recovery from the node biopsy was much harder than I anticipated. I could not have exercised vigorously for a couple weeks just from that surgery alone. Also, I have friends who had rads, and it is cummulatively exhausting. My…

This, minus computer games, plus beer.

My husband started taking Kung Fu at the age of 46. He was in a class of adults; there were some kids, but mostly adults.

Yesterday I bought: Chicken Ground beef Canadian Bacon Fresh veggies (broccoli, avocados, tomatoes, zucchini, lettuce, spinach, carrots) Veggie dip Fresh fruit (bananas, raspberries, strawberries, apples, mangos, and pineapple) Dairy (low-fat milk, Greek yogurt, Laughing Cow Cheese) Eggs Bread Pretty boring, but I like to…

Currently, all my weights (cage, barbell, etc.) are in my garage. This works for now, but we're going to be moving it all upstairs to our game room once we have the money to put down proper gym flooring. So excited for that!!

I just ate one of these for the first time this afternoon, and it was SO YUMMY! I also have the Chobani Key Lime With Graham Cracker and White Chocolate in my fridge. Can't wait to try that one!!

And remember, it's not myweightlosspal.com. It's myFITNESSpal.com. I'm here for the fitness primarily.

I agree with this. Personally, I know that tracking calories works for me to get lean. However, it doesn't not work for me mentally. Because I've counted calories so much, I have the knowledge of how to eat properly. The trick is to be mindful enough to do what I know I need to do. I think in the long run, being mindful -…

Love this!! As I get older, I'm trying to focus on overall health (diet AND exercise) to make sure that I can continue enjoying my favorite things in life. I don't want to end up old and not being able to bike, kayak, hike, etc.

I ate my son's pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream Friday night after drinking three glasses of wine. I had to buy him a new pint to replace it on Saturday...

Just read an article on this today: evidencemag.com/stretching?__vid=467d10a07e220132ca4322000b2a88d7 (Sorry, not a man. Missed that part.)

I'm very impressed! I'd fall over if I tried to do a pistol squat!

LOVE IT!!! My current favorite is the 2% Key Lime flavor. So darned yummy!!

This. Even if you think you'll end up dealing with more **** because of it, you really need to say something to your manager or HR. It's the only way things will improve, even if it takes a while.

Yup, I have my gym in my garage. Cage with cables, multiple bars, dumbbells, benches, kettlebells, medicine balls, etc. It's so great not having to wait in line for gym equipment. The only downfall is that it's REALLY hot in the garage in July/August in Texas. I'm hoping to move the entire thing upstairs to the game room…
