Okay, I'm in. However, I'm not thrilled that apparently I am neither a pear nor an apple shape, bur rather like a banana. My goal will be to look more like an hour glass. Neck - 14" Bust ' 39" Waist - 39" Hips - 42" Thigh - 22" Forgot to measure arms. Goal to lost 1 # per week, so 7 lbs by the end of this challenge. That…

Up there on my list has to be 50 First Dates. Such a cute romantic story.

Good answer! :glasses:

This is an winnable debate! Cats and dogs tie. I had one of each until we lost our cat last week - had to put him down (sniff, sniff). I've always had a cat, so it's tough now. However, we'll wait a month or two and start shopping for a new one. Meanwhile, dog is fun to walk with and snuggles with me. Cleans the plates…

I agree - they are good! I just picked up some mango chicken sausage from Costco today - will give them a try.

Too bad Dennis couldn't have eaten his prize! (Easy for me to say . . .)

Sounds good! Mine is 29.4 - not good, so look forward to improving this #. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this link! I found the stretches useful.

I like the coupon idea and massages. Other ideas may include a romantic movie (either in or out), a good book (maybe his favorite author), and/or dinner at a healthy-type restaurant (e.g., sushi). My husband and I have been going out for jazz or other music lately - no calories except the mandatory drink. If you have…

I'm making this one up, but it's true (but I love my car anyway): PASSAT - Parts Always Slide Sideways Around Town

I think a lot of it is hereditary - where your God-given fat reserves are located! Also, is everyone eating healthy? It's not just about the calories, but the exercise we do and types of food we eat. Okay, I'll get off the soapbox! :):embarassed:

I weighed around 115-120 at 5'3. My height hasn't changed, amazingly! ha ha I don't think it would be realistic to get down to that weight at this age and activity level, but I would be stunningly happy to achieve 130 lbs. 150 is my short term goal right now.

Hang in there, keep up the good work with daily exercise! Do something you enjoy, and record it in MFP. Don't forget to list everything you eat - every little tablespoon counts and you will learn which of your old habits need to leave the premises.

It may be helpful to try a probiotic supplement if anxiety prevents you from eating well. My son had this recently and the over-the-counter supplements really settled him down. He quit caffeinated coffee and pop at the same time.

On the posture question, I'd say stand upright and not hunch. I've seen people hunch over and/or lean heavily on their arms and wrists, bending their back. This can't be the right posture! "Shoulders back, tummy in, and head up" like my Naval Officer Dad used to say!

That's okay - stick with one scale. Only use it once a week. Keep on trucking - keep your eye on the healthy eating and exercising goal. Go Jacque!

Cilantro marinated shrimp from Costco with a glass of Pinot Grigio. MMMMMMmmmmm.

How's that one? I'm reading Patterson's book called Lifeguard. I think it has been out for several years, but I now have about a dozen of his to get caught up on.

The routine I started was parking far from my office so that I get a good walk in twice a day. It sounds corny, but it's an easy way to make sure I get exercise every day - even if I feel "blah". Also, it is energizing and refreshing for my mind. You do have to plan for an extra amount of time before/after work or…

I took a nutrition class in college, and remember the professor saying that any extra protein we consumer, over and above the minimum we need, turns into fat and gets stored as reserve. Hope this helps!

This is a fair question. I used to say that 'I was too busy to workout" with a FT job, being a parent, etc. Anyway, I agree with others that if there is a will there is also a way. I now park my car more than 1/2 mile away from work and at a very minimum each day, I walk over a mile. I also now bring my tennis shoes to…

Brenda, I think it's natural for you to be distracted from losing weight in the midst of losing a close family member. take time to grieve and spend time with other immediate family (especially those close to the loved one). Remember to take care of your body during this time and eat nourishing foods - whole grains, fruits…

Okay, not a doc here, but if you are having super runny ones . . . you know . . . too much fiber means the vitamins and minerals are not getting absorbed properly. Bananas are great for regulating your system.

Vanilla yogurt, blueberries or strawberries, banana, pineapple or orange juice. Add ice if your machine can handle it. Maybe a touch of honey if you use plain yogurt. Enjoy!
