Does anyone have a good way, or method of developing good middle abdominal muscles? I have been working my abs for about 3 months now, hard, and have good definition at the top and sides, but just can't get that tone in the middle. I know that is the hardest part, but I am really getting frustrated.
Anyone know how Girard Butler did it?

First off, abs are mostly "made in the kitchen". To have visible abs your body needs to be a certain body fat. It is pretty hard for women to maintain that. However, you can have great looking abs with minimal ab workouts and a good diet. I personally only work out my abs 2-3 times a week and for minimal time and I have a pretty muscular mid section. I hardly do crunches in the old-style form, I do reverse crunches on an incline, medicine ball twists, cable pulls and bicycle crunches mainly. I also like to do planks that involve leg movement, like this http://exercise.about.com/od/abs/ss/abmoves1_6.htm or plank into pushup like this http://www.flatstomachblog.com/2009/02/25/flat-stomach-ripped-triceps-plank-push-exercise/0

Well that is not the answer I was hoping for but seems to be the general consensus. Guess it's time to reallt start counting calories and lay off the Corona's for a while!0
