LOL I agree! One reason to enjoy my weight is I could buy bigger bras, now they are gone on vacation hopefully never to return.

Definitely measure. I felt more change in how clothing fit at first instead of movement on the scale. I knew I was doing some good even if I didn't see the numbers change right away or slower than I would have liked. Even if you don't see movement some weeks keep at it and don't let those numbers define you, you are…

I don't know for sure, but my trainer in my boot camp class tells us that we should let whatever muscle group we exercise that night rest for 24 hours to heal up and strengthen. She said it's basically like you are making little tears in your muscles that your body starts repairing after your workouts. You want your body…

I love echinacea tea by celestial seasonings. When I feel a cold coming on I drink a bunch of it with some honey and cinnamon. Cinnamon helps boost the immune system also.

I don't have a HRM yet, I'm hoping for Christmas I'll get one. I've been going by the machine (elliptical) since I put in my age and weight. For 33 minutes on the elliptical I burn about 300ish calories. MFP says I burned like 450ish. I just manually input the calories that the machine tells me I burned. Weight lifting…

I am praying for him, his family and friends.

I would love to join as well. My sweet husband gave me the incentive that if I would feel comfortable in a bikini he would take me to Hawaii next summer. Yussssss!!

I am a mom of one, love weight lifting. I have boot camp 2 times a week and do a weight routine 3 other days of the week. I hate running though LOL. I do love the elliptical though.

You can hide a lot of vegetables in home made sauces like marinara. I make a home made marinara with canned tomatoes, shredded carrots, bell peppers and whatever else I have in the fridge. I blenderize them then simmer them for a while in a frying pan with some olive oil and then on top of pasta and bake for a bit. Then…

I so feel your pain and frustration, so sorry. I have ulcerative colitis, which can cause early onset of arthritis and inflammation. I am working through some bursitis on my femur bone urgh and arthritis in my lower spine. No impact exercises or running for me. I'll be damned if I'm going to stop now. Hang in there and…

Definitely keep taking him. Get him a sweater and some doggie boots. Just a heads up it takes a bit to get them used to the boots. Try it a few minutes a day and increase the time and soon enough they will love it. Another alternative, I know people will think I'm crazy, is if you have a treadmill, put him on the…

Don't get caught up in everyone's version of happiness, you create the happiness that works for you. As far as the weight goes, keep working at it and you will lose it. Don't give up and keep working at it. It didn't get on there overnight and it sucks trying to lose it slowly and at a healthy pace to keep it off and make…

Per Dr. Oz any meat is a palm size. Thickness as well.

Agreed throw it away and then get out of the house and go to the gym. Pretend his face is under your feet every step you take knowing he will only regret losing the sexy confident woman you are turning into.

I agree! Plain is nasty to me, however with fruit mixed in it's better, still not my favorite. Plain is a great substitute for sour cream in cooking or toppings.

I stumbled upon a great website 100daysofrealfood.com. She writes about eating "whole" food instead of such highly processed stuff. She gives great recipes on how to do that. It's stuff that I never would have thought of, but really easy stuff especially if you are cooking for picky eaters like I have in my house. she…

I used to work 12's as well, I totally understand being so exhausted at the end of your day. I found it helped to work out before going to work, but I had a 24 hour gym near by also. If that's not possible, try to do just 30 minutes before you go home. Go from work directly to the gym. Then do longer exercise routines on…

My husband travels quite a bit as well. Even with an older child (12 yr old) I had some of the same issues. I started to view it as girl time when he's gone. We have friends come over and spend the night, go out on play dates with friends, classes together at a recreation center. Basically I tried to keep myself really…

It is pricey but I have baby fine thin hair and I started using Ovations. It has helped my hair seem more healthy, I haven't noticed massive growth or anything but I have noticed healthier stronger hair.

True I'm at 1490, my BMR is 1690. I have a hard time eating at 1490.

What constitutes lifting heavy? I am just starting and VERY weak. In our weight lifting boot camp we usually do 6 weight exercises, doing 3 sets of 15 reps. With cardio before, halfway through and at the end for 5 or so minutes. As time goes on we add more weight when it gets too easy. Or is heavy lifting lots of weight…

I am eating 1490 cal. a day. I do strength training (free weights and machines guided by a personal trainer 2 days a week) at least 4 days a week and cardio one day a week. I am 5'7 and weigh 189. So I should eat back my work out calories so my body doesn't think I'm starving it and I continue to gain muscle, correct? An…

So I have another question, I am new to strength training as well. I have been trying to up my protein and eat back my calories but I usually don't. By the time dinner is done, I'm stuffed. As long as I'm getting all my protein is it okay to leave a couple hundred calories not eaten on the days you strength train? I still…

There is a great website called 100 days of real food, google it. She does challenges on 10 day with no processed foods and doing a low budget challenge. She has some awesome recipes on there that my family loves.

A new tattoo on my wrist and a HRM woot woot.

Have you tried valerian root or sleepy time tea? They work really well for me. One other product to try is from The Vitamin Cottage, if they don't have stores by you, you can order online, a product called snooze in. It has magnesium, a bit of melatonin, valerian root and bunch of other natural stuff to help you fall…

I have some arthritis in my spine and knees even though I'm only 35 due to some immune system issues. I try to get up and do stretches in the morning as well. It is not easy but it does help loosen up everything as well as taking in fish oil. This may or may not be an option for you but I switched my mattress to a memory…

I know I've been working out and learning to eat healthier for about 4 1/2 weeks now. I didn't see any weight come off until this last couple weeks however I did notice pants fitting better and feeling more comfortable and just feeling better within the first two weeks.

Another Sarah here, we have got to be friends if no other reason than we have a great name LOL. I am a stay at home mom but only one child, and she's older. I like to say I have baby weight to lose but it's been 11 years now and I never got rid of it Ha ha ha. I'm looking at 30lbs to begin with to lose, but I may readjust…
