  • Thank you all so much, I have a plan now. I'll see if my doc can give me a referral for physical therapy, as insurance will need one. The only pool locally is within a club. Maybe I'll see if I can switch my membership from my current gym. I'll check on livestrong for some stretches to do in the mean time. I'm willing to…
  • 37 year old mom of one, feel free to add me! We all could use as much support as possible.
  • One weird thing that started the journey for me was I wanted to take my husband zip lining through the mountains here in Colorado. He loves stuff like that and it was going to be the best gift, that is until I read the small print. Women need to be180 lbs. or less. I was so upset. Then I thought why be upset at them, they…
  • Keep going! I was up to the end of week 6 and doing pretty good. I never thought I would get here. I had to take a couple weeks off for medical reasons and now I had to go back to day 1 of week 5. It is very hard for us new to exercise and really out of shape. I seriously think the mental aspect of running is the hardest…
  • ROFL, no veggie pushing here. Feel free to add me. I'm not much into veggies and fruit myself due to them affecting my ulcerative colitis.
  • Thank you! I think I am doing a light/liquid meal plan for the next few days. Load up on probiotics and hope it helps.
  • Good for all of you getting your colonoscopies done! I have had one this year already plus a flexible sigmoidoscopy because I have UC as well. I get one just about every year.
  • I have lost 33lbs, 30lb here on MFP and 3lb before I started, in just about a year. It's been really slow, I've not been eating as healthy as I could. I am still going strong though and would love to drop another 10 or so. Depending on how I feel and look at 155 I will reevaluate at that time. Don't give up, yes it takes a…
  • I just started Bentyl, doesn't it make you tired? I am supposed to take it twice a day and boy the night dose is a comedy hour in my house. I kept asking my daughter if she saw the box I wanted her to hand to me, but just kept saying don't you see the box?
  • Yes! I am having that right now, I even feel uncomfortable like I was at the end of my pregnancy. Bloating along with crampy feeling too. My GI just prescribed some Bentyl (dicyclomine) for me. I am supposed to take it twice a day one in the morning and one at night. It made me so loopy last night, there is no way I can…
  • I tend to stop my weight lifting boot camp class during a flare, but try get some exercise in. I find it helps me take my mind off the pain for an hour and then I sleep better. We all know sleeping better is a great thing, especially if you are on prednisone or entocort.
  • I was diagnosed a little over 8 years ago and pretty steadily (until this year) I would have two flares a year spring and fall. I don't know the correlation either, this year it seems though I've had one small flare after another.
  • Oh gosh I can hear your pain. I think you need to NOT brush this off, use this! Make this "your moment that changed your life". Always remember this feeling and no matter how hard this journey is going to be, think back and remember you'll never need that damn tester seat again. Feel free to friend me and we'll support…
  • I am on week 6 day 1 finished today. I am loving it, yet the hardest thing I have every done. The mental part is actually the hardest part. Feel free to add me fellow C25K'ers
  • Feel free to add me. I'm just getting back into this as well. I was doing pretty good and I have had some health problems but I'm struggling through them now and plan to pick back up on C25k week 9!
  • I am very new to running as well, today is day one of week three for me. I also have arthritis in my knees and lower back. I had a trainer from my gym watch me run and give me some pointers due to my knees aching. She told me that I was running more on my toes than I should which was giving me the achy knees afterwards.…
  • This is exactly where I wear mine too. Higher was giving me 00, a bit lower and tighter worked great for me.
  • I'm 37, been here a while and lost 26 total lbs. Love the site, add me as a friend if you would like.
  • I make them quite often, and I can't get enough of them! I love them. Now they don't take the place of potato chips, but they do fill a salty craving. One key is to use fresh Kale. The recipe you posted is the one I use, go easy on the salt, a little goes a long way. My 13 year old super picky daughter loves them too.
  • I'm 175, looking to lose 25-30ish pounds, feel free to add me :D
  • Me personally would more than welcome it. I am newer to lifting and love it, but I am accident prone and don't want to get sidelined with injuries. I think a lot of people would think it's rude though. With the little bit of knowledge that I have, I see people at the gym doing stuff that make even me cringe.
  • I make a home made wheat crust that everyone in the family likes. 1 cup warm water 2 teaspoons active yeast 2 teaspoons olive oil 2 teaspoons salt 3 cups whole wheat (or whole wheat white) flour Drop 2 tsp. yeast in warm water and let it sit for a few minutes, it should look foamy on the top. Add salt and olive oil to the…
  • I had a hysterectomy 12 years ago, I'm 36. I took estrogen for awhile, then got a blood clot and had to go off. I had hot flashes everyday and night. I toughed it out and gladly it started getting less and less. Now I don't remember the last time I had one. I know mine was easier to adjust to because all my hormones were…
  • I'm not a professional, just a regular MFP'er, but it sounds as if you're not giving it enough time. I would pick your program and try for 4 weeks at least, then adjust according to your results. I recommend reading The New Rules for Weight Lifting for Women. It gives a work out plan, helps you figure out your RMR,…
  • Welcome! I'm on everyday, feel free to add me! I would love to get even more support and more than willing to give it out too.
  • Here's a link for an oatmeal concoction you can put in your cool water bath and soak which really helps. http://www.food.com/recipe/oatmeal-sunburn-soother-69549. Also this sounds weird but rubbing alcohol, sprayed on the burn area or apply onto a washcloth and soak burned area helps relieve the burning feeling.
  • First off welcome :D, 2nd I'm not an expert, nor do I play one on TV. I have been on MFP for about 6 months now and have lost 23lbs. I have learned that it will take time to get the weight off in a healthy way, which leads to it staying off and this new way of being healthy a long term commitment. Even though you saw huge…
  • Thank you!!! I dream of running, I haven't tried with losing some of this weight.......yet. My bucket list has me running a marathon and I want to mark that off! All past experiences I've given up really quick thinking it's just not for me.
  • Same here unfortunately I eat what I can till it bothers me, new things seem to pop up and bother me that I've eaten for years. I have drank coffee and soda since I was in 7th grade and last year out of the blue caused horrible stomach cramping and almost instant need to run for the nearest bathroom. I know I'm fine with…
