  • Hi there. Welcome! I'm just restarting (it's a new year, I'm recently engaged and I'm no longer ill with whooping cough) so I need plenty of supportive friends to help me get back on the wagon. I've added you so we can buddy up! I had about 70-80lbs to lose, but have already made a bit of a dent! Good luck with figuring…

  • feel free to add me :) lost about 2 stones on here last year, but got ill and fell off the wagon and gained a bit back, so i'm back and looking for some re-motivating to get to goal!
  • thanks so much everyone! and shirl, you are a legend, haha :) thought i would report back and let you all know that today i am under calories with 35 mins of walking and 30 mins of swimming under my belt, and feeling much much better for it. one day at a time, right?
  • amazing. you are such an inspiration! thank you so much for sharing
  • that's fantastic! well done you!
  • also, apologies for the very bad quality of the pics
  • i'm 21 and would love some friends closer to my age, too. i've been on mfp since late october, i'm vegetarian and from the uk :) i'll get adding, everyone else feel free to add me, just say you saw me on this thread... i get spooked when i get an add without a message. haha!
  • i'm just in week 2 of couch to 5k and loving it, but you've given me even more motivation and determination to succeed. congrats on your success, i can't wait to be feeling as great as you do about running!
  • thats fantastic. this will sound like an odd thing to notice, but the change to your upper arm/ under arm area is astonishing! nice work :-D
  • give up the dratted soda! i've quit smoking and eating bad since i joined mfp. now just to banish the soda...
  • thanks guys, i'll give it all a go. i did loosen the shoes on tonight's walk, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference, but i'll keep experimenting. just so glad i'm not the only one!
  • i'm a few weeks in and always looking to widen my support network. feel free to add me, just be sure to include a message :)
  • i'd really like to join if there's still room for newbies :)
  • hi my fellow shorties! my name is lily and i'm 5' 3", thought i would join because it's good to have support from similar people! i'm from england, just graduated university and have about 80lbs to lose. my inspiration is my sister's wedding next august, where i will be chief bridesmaid and have to wear a dress... i refuse…
  • my grandad had all the best sayings. we called him 'bumpy', for many reasons, but it always seemed appropriate because he loved playing with words. if you were untidy or didnt have clean shoes he'd call you an "hobbidly-oi" (his word for tramp). also, he loved mixing words up so 'fish and chips' was 'chish and fips' and a…
  • so how's everyone getting on? i managed 3 miles yesterday and 5 today. very happy with that :)
  • i think you hit the nail on the head. i tried to remind myself today that eating healthily doesn't mean not eating. so i've eaten all of my 1200 and a few of my exercise calories as well. a big improvement on yesterday. i got there with a little extra fruit and a fruit smoothie (so i didn't feel like i was snacking) can i…
  • this is my go-to thread when i want bad food, or just feel a bit low. i am so inspired i was brave enough to take what will be my before pics today. it will be a long journey, but i can't wait until i am there and i can hopefully inspire someone else, like you all have me. thank you a million times everyone who has been so…
  • i completely agree. i've been vegetarian since i was 11 and protein has always been easy to come by, it's the iron i struggle with too! muti-vitamins are a great idea, certainly to start with, as you get used to having to think about your iron. you might find you get enough in your diet through things like nuts, but it's…
  • i wasn't trying to be insulting. i apologise if you are upset. i removed it because i decided it would be better for everyone's morale if i didn't respond to your comments. i was only trying to suggest that you weren't being helpful. again, i am sorry if you were upset.
  • just wanted to thank everyone who's been helpful. i've added a lot more fruit in today, and it seems to be slowly making the difference. also, i'm going to try some fruit smoothies, i think, and see if that is an easy way to boost my calories. i had a low calorie breakfast, but at least it is a start. also, i'm resigned to…
  • i just took my before pictures :( very depressing. but, i was right, it has motivated me to walk even more miles than i had planned for today!
  • i'm a really visual person, but i can't find any of my thin pics (i have always been camera shy, which is annoying when i'm on the heavier side and need some motivating)... but then i found this website. http://www.mybodygallery.com/ i find it difficult to visualise my goal on my own, so if i'm having a moment of weakness,…
  • i finally figured out the ticker and picture... i must have had a bit of a brain failure yesterday! so... what date does our 6 months start on? also... just a suggestion. for extra inspiration, maybe we could do a before and after pic of the next 6 months each, or maybe progress pics? if people feel shy, we could wait…
