I actually really like this idea, so your body doesn't get into many habits. What I'm experimenting with is zig-zagging calories and exercise together...so that I give my body a ton of energy on days in which I do the most exercise, but then usually the next day I drop it down so I have enough energy but so my body is more…

Whey protein is whey protein, so there are a lot of brands like GNC and ON that may be ripping you off when they say they provide better results but I'm not sure...if I were you I'd start with the brands from Walmart...I know they have two pound tubs for like $15 or something. And if you want a better deal, get a 5-pound…

nah a protein shake (if you buy 100% whey protein) is simply protein in its most basic form...all the major amino acids are covered and you get about 24g of solid protein with just around 4g carbs and 1g fat..it's perfect if you are having trouble getting protein sources from food. protein supplements are a common…

set a goal for the rest of the week...exercise for 30mins a day, be under for 5 consecutive days, stay under on carbs today, etc. That's where I've had most of my success...add me if you wish I love support & giving it
-
1. Eat larger portions earlier in the day if you exercise a lot later in the day. 2. MFP caloric burns are not accurate
-
Yeah it will make them feel stupid in a way. They'll walk away thinking, "Why WOULDN'T anyone want to have a better body and be healthier?" There just seems to be that negative notion surrounding the phrase "losing weight"
-
Will add you...I love the support. There seems to be a trend for me that whenever I get less support I'm more likely to pig out! haha. I'll give support from time to time when I find it suitable. Anyone else...feel free to add me. I log everyday but I'm not an annoyance

I get told this all the time. My response is: I'm not really even trying to lose weight, I'm trying to be healthier and define my body better. People seem to have something against other people dieting and exercising, it's like we all don't want to fall behind and would rather other people be fat than themselves diet and…

Good luck! just make sure you stay fully committed. I haven't really been fully committed and haven't seen results. So I guess I'm on board where you are
-
I guess this is good for some people who need to lose quickly...but I like having water weight! I would rather my body retain water than fat

Yeah, either C25k, or just take it slowly. Do some pyramids if you're on a treadmill (walk 5, walk-incline 5, jog-incline 5, run 10, walk 5) and gradually add more time to the running and less to the rest. Or just gradually build up your endurance by straight running, finding a level that is intense but not so intense that…

I am also interested to see the true answer to this problem - machines say considerably less than MFP does. I think MFP is very generous with its calories burned. I think I'm going to start eating about 50-75% of exercise calories back instead of all of them.

I drink natural whey protein twice per day (easy way to get protein), and then take a men's multi-vitamin and fiber caplets. I never really got into the rest of the stuff, and I don't think I ever will.
-
I'm sure people will chime in with more detailed responses but...no! MFP sets your protein goals at like 10% which is absurd..you need protein to build lean muscle mass. Protein has been shown to boost metabolism. Only 70% of protein can actually be stored/used as energy because our body has to convert it to that energy.…

“I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough..” “So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be…

Wow. that is incredible

yeah i guess i can say the same about ice cream...had a ton! you only live once...

yeah....unfortunately. what's up?

You burn about 50% fat when doing 6-8 reps, and if you're using higher weight (which you should), it takes more energy in general to do each rep. There's no evidence to prove that you use a significant amount of fat past the initial 6-8 reps.
-
I'm indifferent towards it...it's tough at first because every second feels so tiring and tough, but as I've built up endurance and I don't think as much and kind of just do. I ALWAYS listen to music while running, helps a lot. And when I go on the treadmill, I usually try to not look at the time for extended periods of…

You should try to stay under your goal by about 100, not 300. It seems paradoxical because weight loss is founded on the theory that you need to burn more calories than you consume, but your body is more complex than that. If it's not getting what it needs, it will save more and use more energy coming from lean body mass…

I used to eat so many granola bars...kashi, nature valley, chewy, fiber one..i loved them. i guess I just lost interest after a while

Yeah, there is something weird about our society where we don't want anyone else to lose weight. It's to make ourselves feel good knowing that even if I'm not exercising or eating right, no one else is. It's all about comparison and jealousy. It's a weird thing, because life changes like these make your life much more…

Personally I like smaller girls (smaller than I) with some curves

Why don't you want to gain weight? I bet if you upped your protein intake and caloric intake in general with some weight training you would put on all muscle

Ha so true! I'm not discriminating it's just I like having motivation from people my age. Definitely won't deny anyone though
