Hi I am also learning to run. Like you I do a mile in 11 mins. But I then keep going and do intermitent walk/run. I use my stop watch to log running time and find that each time my total running time is a bit better. I am now at 23 mins accumulated running time. Hope this suggestion is of help. Good luck.

Congratulations on your recovery. You look amazing, healthy and happy. x

Wow - you look great. Well done

OMG what a difference - you have done so well. You look fantastic.

I would say MFP's maintenance estimate is pretty accurate. I have been on maintenance for about 8 weeks and often eat over (although still relatively healthily) and have kept the same weight. I also eat ALL my excercise calories back.

Well done - you are an inspiration. Thank you and keep up the good work.
-
Fantastic - you look so toned and trim - total flat tummy. Well done you !! x

This topic reminds me of a quote in a film I saw yesterday - The Exotic Marigold Hotel" - when the man was talking about sex and says "well nowadays it's more theory than practice". Made me chuckle.

I am a 30 inch waist and 37 hips. Size 10.

In my experience the time of eating has not affected weight loss. I often snack all night. However it may not be the same for everyone, so just try out what works for you.

Exactly this.

That's fantastic. Well done.

Please do not worry about extra calories. I was worried going up to maintenance and never gained a thing. Even when I do indulge i still dont gain. So enjoy - your body will adjust x

Sure is. I will be 49 in May. I am very inspired by the fit 50's on this site. Well done everyone - you all look great. And certainly looking after your health - otherwise you would not be on MFP.

I think you are doing the right thing going to the drs. From what you say about being frightened to look on the net, then not being able to sleep, suggests to me that you are a worrier. Have a think - is this normal reaction to any unexplained health issues? This may be learned behaviour surrounding general anxieties. So…

I always go way over and it has never been a problem for me.

Totally love this response - I am gonna use it (if you don't mind) cos I am getting this all the time. Even to the point I am getting paranoid incase I am too thin. (I'm not - 5 ft 6 and 142lbs and fit in to a UK 12) . My only worry is I am nearly 49 so don't want to look too thin for my age.

Funny how our brains take time to catch up lol. My husband has lost 30 lbs and is now enjoying running. Last week he was running past a group of teenagers and one shouted "keep jogging ya skinny ******". Little did they know he took it as a massive compliment,- he could hardly run for laughing. Good luck with your 5K.

Wow - you look fab! Well done.

Yes i can see a difference, especially round your middle and your legs. WELL DONE!!

I would like to know too - time to tone the muscles.
-
Thanks everyone - gonna get one now. yipee !!

I've got down to 140lbs but its too low for me so I am on my way back up - prob about 147 would suit me best.

Excellent and well put. I think for many of us we have been brought up with the myth that if you eat virtually nothing you will lose weight. I must admit I started off MFP with 1200 cals and didn't eat back excercise cals. Then I took the plunge and switched to much higher cals and ate my EC back. Success. Even when I went…

Love this thread. I am the opposite. I have lost 25 pounds and even although my measurements tell me I am a normal uk size 12 and everyone says I look great. I am considering putting on some weight cos I feel I look too thin! I think that I am just considering myself against what I was like before and am not used to seeing…
