  • I really love my life, and I'm content being single. That said... It does get lonely sometimes. But (this will probably make me sound awful), I don't know if it isn't something a good friends-with-benefits situation couldn't cure! I mean I have great friends and amazing family, so I've got love and companionship... it's…
  • Whiskey and Diet Cola is only 65 calories! It's the only way I drink any soda... not too much, but occasionally!
  • I think I just like kissing too much! Yes, on the first date if things go well. Not usually an all-out-makeout session... but likely more than a small peck.
  • If 30 calories is a total fail... you're going to have a rough road ahead. 30 calories is just that... 30 calories... you'd have to be OVER by that much for the next 116 days to make up one pound. And you're still at a deficit being 30 cals "over"... Don't beat yourself up. Learn from it. Move on! The quickest way to fail…
  • I see one pic, and you look great!! Way to go! Is that a ball python?
  • Sorry to say... you aren't going to get a clear answer! There are people on both sides of the issue. Theoretically "yes" you can eat back your calories and still maintain your desired calorie deficit and lose weight. But no you do not HAVE to eat them back. My advice, do what feels best for a while (eating them or not) see…
  • I certainly would like to THINK this is the case. Thanks for all the input! I'm well hydrated, and weigh the same time of day every time usually after a normal workout. The scale is level, and the batteries are relatively fresh. I'll have to remember to check the calibration. I'll take it as a good loss for this week! I…
  • I'm interested to hear what others say. My HRM sometimes gives me numbers that I think are really low too.
  • I'm doing it. I modify it to what I can do and sometimes take longer than a week at one level. I usually go longer than the allotted 20-25 minutes, so I stretch the walking pieces just slightly. So for the week when you're running 3 minutes, walking 1.5, then running 5 minutes, and walking 2.5, I did run 3min, walk 2, run…
  • I guess it's not really a "workout" muscle, but as a result of the arm and upper body work I've been doing my shoulders and neck are looking much more defined, not like muscular... but I can see the ridges where my collar bones are... that makes me RIDICULOUSLY happy. And when I'm flexing I can see my biceps for the first…
  • I have the same problem. I rarely eat late (I workout in the morning) but when I do I will wake up SO hungry I almost get nauseous!
  • That's a heart rate monitor, you'll see it abbreviated a lot of places as HRM. Some of them are programmable so you can set your resting and target manually. But the short answer is yes, it uses heart rate to determine calories burned.
  • I have so much respect for people in long-term relationships or with children who are trying to change their lifestyles for the better. There are lots of times when I feel pretty crappy about not having a significant relationship right now, but I'm realizing that I have a LOT of freedom to make these changes in my life and…
  • There's differing opinions, but my understanding is that planned "workouts" aren't counted as part of your "lifestyle" setting. If your lifestyle, other than working out, requires mostly sitting. Keep it set at sedentary.
  • I agree. When I eat more "prepackaged" food, I never feel like I get enough to eat!! But I can eat an entire plate full of carrots, bell pepper and celery with ranch and peanut butter to dip it in and only be in for 350 or so calories! my 2 cents is more protein, and less processed food. good luck!
  • DITTO! I also learned that Jack and Diet Coke is like 65 calories. Good thing I love whiskey! (it's also the only time I ever drink soda anymore, funny enough)
  • Why must you be so snarky and rude? Could have have politely disagreed (like your second statement) without the initial point of making someone feel belittled!? Everyone has the right to take breaks, and it's proven that getting your body moving can help your mental function, so this is a GREAT idea. Just because someone…
  • Mine are BAD BAD... but I try to do something. It really does help in the long run, and then I don't get completely out of my workout routine. I won't run, but I'll walk fast. I probably won't do strength-training, but I'll do lots of stretching! It's amazing what stretching your lower abs can do for cramps. I also like to…
  • Sorbet is vegan if it uses raw unbleached sugar. Are you making it from scratch? I've got a (ridiculously simple) recipe for basil-lime sorbet. The only "non-vegan" element would be the kind of sugar you use.
  • I don't think eating fewer calories (even maybe too few) is ANYTHING like purging. I very much disagree with this statement. This is perhaps a good concern... but calorie number does not always indicate true volume. An extreme example: if you eat 900 calories of vegetables, you would be eating a MUCH greater volume than if…
  • My two cents, no scientific evidence here... just my gut reaction. It would seem that doing that would even out over a weeks time for calorie deficits and still properly fueling you're body. If someone is relatively healthy and mentally stable, I almost always defer to "listening to your body."
  • I'm an INFJ Though my I/E is right on the midline.

  • Juice will give you calories. Other calorie dense foods are things like: Nuts Peanut/Almond Butter Cheese Beans Rice (which you have, but maybe you could increase amounts?) Good luck! Mostly I think if you're listening to your body, it's not a HUGE issue. But that's just opinion.
  • It sure is! It's a drying agent. Scary!
  • I know that when I look good in the clothes I'm wearing (so, when I'm wearing clothes that fit properly). I feel more motivated to stay on track! I shop thrift stores and clearance sales for a few new pieces about every 20lbs (i know my ticker says I've lost 20lbs, but that's on MFP, I've actually lost closer to 60) and I…
  • Cottage cheese and pepper is my favorite way too! Also I like it with sunflower seeds mixed in. It also works really well with sweet flavors, I think rich sweet flavors are best. Dark berries, dried cherries, etc. But it's very good as a veggie dip as well (especially bell peppers!)
  • I'm sorry... correction. You have to set the calories to at least "1" when using the website. I really feel like the mobile app allows for selecting "zero" calories. But that's not so bad!
  • Why would you not log exercise you did? If you want to know how hard you're working, or are meeting certain goals for time spent exercising? JUST MANUALLY SET THE CALORIES BURNED TO ZERO when logging the activity!
  • Aside from the debate about whether or not you should eat the calories accrued with exercise. There IS a way to log the exercise but not the calories. You can manually adjust the calories burned for each exercise. You can log your exercise and the time, it will give you the calculated "calories burned"... simply set that…
