I'm 5'1" , sendentary, starting weight 149lbs and want to lose 1 lb a week and it's given me 1200 net calories. I find it hard to eat only that much. I feel like MFP is being mean with my cals allowance! :smiley:

I'm not judging you but I honestly don't know why you would want to lose any weight as you are well within a normal range for your height. 12lbs would be a big % of your overall body weight to lose.

I'd sooner check how my clothes are fitting than go to the expense of a dexa scan. Fat takes up more space than muscle for the same weight, so if you're the same weight but have more muscle then you should see and feel that in how your clothes fit.
