Height? 5'5" and 1/2 Starting weight? 130 Current weight? 118 Goal Weight? 110 Age? 37 How many calories you eat a day? I try to stay between 1300-1600. I'm in the "active" category. For those criticizing the foiks who replied to this post, please don't cast stones. What you may perceive as being underweight on your frame…

Yesterday a woman at the yoga studio said she hopes to have my abs one day. I told her I loved her.

Same here. It gets easier over time. Try to log as you eat. If you find it hard to keep up it might help modify the habit of grazing if you do that. This might be a good thing. Give it time. List every bite on your log!!!

I just saw this today. Good stuff! I quit in January and was fine until July. I was craving a drink for days before which hadn't happened until then. Since July it's been a slippery slope. Not drinking til September will be easy but I'm looking to make it more permanent. Anyone with me til New Year's? It's really not as…

that is eva longoria. they thickened up her arms and thigh. hm. thanks for this post too! good to see the reality of photoshopping that is rampant in magazines. my ideal is skinny. not gonna lie. i have an apple shape so curves for me mean not the kind you wanna squeeze. who wants to love on a muffin top? i want to be slim…

Hi Sam, I practice and teach Bikram yoga. I take about 5 classes per week. My opinion is that no one type of exercise is superior to any other. In my 20's I was obsessed with swing dancing and went out about 4x per week along with a few classes. I sweat a lot, my partners didn't seem to mind, and my weight was good. Its…

I'd like to bump this thread instead of starting a new one. My scale is newish and acting funny now. Anyone have a recommendation on a scale? (I know some people measure instead of scale but I'd like to do both.) Help!

It's okay. Maybe the stress of putting your situation on here tipped you overboard. Just get back on that horse!

Hi, I just joined this group. Great idea! I was sober from 1/22 of this year to mid-July. I would not consider myself a full-blown alcoholic but it does run in my family and I did feel a tug to overdoing it and that's why I quit. Then we had a block party and I caved. But I want to jump back on the wagon. In my 7 months I…

I practice Bikram yoga. 90 minutes of staring at yourself in the mirror. You're not always staring at your soul so, yeah, do whatever the f&ck it takes to make you feel good when looking at yourself. I just wear eyeliner. There are no true waterproof eyeliners out there though so I do sometimes have raccoon eyes by the…

Yes, this! When I get an emotional craving from stress, depression, whatever, I try to get on here and just poke around or write down my thoughts. I've found it helpful to write an email to myself and save it in my Notes too. Journaling, basically. I also read a little article that suggested attacking a sugar craving with…

Interesting. I was 110 in my early 20's and my Japanese boss told me I looked too thin. I thought that was a sign. My mother would just about cry telling me I was wasting away. But she's melodramatic anyway. I'm shooting for 115 which is just about 5 lbs. away. I've seen that my ideal weight is 110. I'm waiting to see what…

Yes! Something else. You can use the seeded part of the cucumber (if you slice into 4's lengthwise and run a knife through the middle) as part of your salad dressing before chopping the rest of the cucumber into your salad.

This looks delish! I love the neutral and cooling flavor of cucumber and my coop I'm buying the bumper crop that's come in. I'd read that you're not supposed to eat melon with other stuff, BUT, I make this smoothie anyway and have not had digestive upset. In a blender: 1 cucumber, peeled and roughly chopped 2 cups honeydew…

Bump. Want to keep this fresh so I can report back with my Pennington results. Java is not working on my old Mac. Grrr...

I am living proof of this. My exercise regimen is set. On average, 5 Bikram yoga classes per week, 90-120 minutes long plus general moving around, biking, walking the dog, swimming here and there. I am strong, visible muscles. BUT, lately, with strict tracking I see my calories are about 1800 on average (hurts to say…

It's the best feeling when clothes you'd been avoiding in your closet come out to show off and flatter your new figure. Congrats!

Ooh! Good tip. I like that you gave yourself wiggle room to read your body to figure out if you really wanted that extra snack or whatever that you already logged in and were able to edit later. Thanks.

I'm going to try this. I usually wing it but by dinner I'm famished and mostly grab anything and wince as I enter it in later. Obviously not the best way to get to my goal.

I like these ideas lots. Love steamed broccoli. Love popcorn. What do you put on your popcorn? My husband usually makes it, in the pot, and adds more oil than I'm comfortable with. I guess if I made it I can just add salt and nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor. Hm?

Ooh! I'm going to use that recipe! I'm digging on the seasonal stuff here at the moment. I've been grilling eggplant, eating wonderfully sweet raw tomato with a sprinkle of salt. Same with cucumber. When autumn rolls around I'll be buying more apples, squash and carrots. My food coop has some pretty stuff. 3/4's of my trip…

I like rutabaga! Good idea to replace potato with it. I don't eat many potatoes but next time...

Yes. Same here. I don't think it's vain to check (often?) if there's something on your nose, in your teeth, shiny face, hair that is jacked up, etc. Don't want to be an eyesore for others when it could be an easy fix. I chalk it up to politeness.

Really? Just straight up vinegar with herbs? I tried just balsamic once and it was so tart for me. It stung my mouth. But maybe I put in too much. Herbs would really add something. What do you add? Chopped basil? Parsley? Thyme? What a good idea. I saw a Food & Wine issue that featured this new ingredients chefs are using…

Thanks everyone! This really helps! I guess I can't be lazy anymore and must weigh and measure EVERYTHING! I must have been really forgiving when eyeballing. Things like peanut butter can be annoying to measure b/c they're hard to get off the spoon and 1 tb is painfully little. Ha ha! On that note, olive oil is painfully…

I agree with you. EIM has not worked for me when it came to alcohol so in January I gave it up. I caved just a few weeks ago. 7 months, not bad. I still don't drink mostly unless there's a strong craving for a particular flavor (rather than a craving for a buzz or stupor). But I still remember the feeling of trying and…

Hello Amy and everyone! I just looked up "last 10 lbs." group and here you are! I'm so grateful. I've been up and down, up and down for the past few months. Emotional eating is slowly getting better but I'm bad about being honest on MFP food tracking. Bad girl! Now I'm going to be more strict and track as I eat. My…

Hello, I'm not a mom but if you're stuck you might want to try switching up your exercise. Not give up what you're doing already but maybe switch one or two days with something else. Instead of running, try swimming or climbing or zumba or just something else. Your muscles may be in a rut and not being challenged enough.…

coffee, peanut butter, good artisanal bread (I bake, makes it even harder to think of giving up).
