  • Toning will help but laser hair removal will solve all of your shaving problems. I have had my underarms and bikini (front and back) areas done and as a swimmer it has been life changing. Next stop my legs. I dream of the day when I can throw my men's razor away and never look back.
  • Running and swimming are calorie roasters but the best is bikram (hot) yoga. Not regular yoga but hot yoga. At 105 degrees with 40% humidity you will definitely burn some cals!!!
  • Love these kinds of stories! They are very inspirational!!!
  • It's all about the diet and exercise. There is no easy way to lose weight AND keep it off especially when you have PCOS. I was diagnosed with PCOS 10+ years ago and I tried to lose weight on fad diets and sure they worked but the minute you stop you gain it all back and then some. Two years ago I hit rock bottom and…
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS 10+ yrs ago and have struggled with my weight since college. I really didn't embrace the whole diet and exercise thing until a few years ago when I realized that I needed to make some serious changes. I was unhappy and tired all of the time and my family and social life began to suffer because of…
  • Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off. Congratulations and thank you for inspiring all of us.
  • Great job! You are an inspiration to all of us.
  • Biggest Changes: -Realizing that cardio isn't the only kind of exercise that can help you lose weight -Inspiring others to make lifestyle changes -My energy level
  • Amazing results! Congrats!!!
  • Moderation, moderation. moderation... If you love dumplings go for the steamed ones instead of the fried ones. If you like soup split a serving and eat a small bowl. It's okay to splurge every once in awhile just be accountable for your actions and eat nutritiously on the other meals.
  • Body pump is awesome! The class is challenging but I love that it works out your entire body. It's resistance training so as long as you aren't loading up the weights too much you shouldn't have any problems with gaining bulkiness. Your form is very important so make sure you listen to the instructor's recommendations.…
  • Wow! What inspirational results!!!
  • Yes, it is true that your symptoms lessen the more weight you lose. I can also tell you that for the first time in my life I get my period every month (w/o birth control) AND I ovulate on my own. I had a terrible time getting pregnant with my son a few years ago and it really did a number me healthwise. I got gestational…
  • Yes to PCOS AND unfortunately to the spare tire :( I started exercising and logging what I eat about a year ago and after a lot of hard work I have had success. Try and watch your carb intake as I notice when i drink more beer and eat more carbs my stomach tends to puff out even more than normal. I also started circuit…
  • Always order the smallest everything when eating fast food - junior/kids size or small if necessary. Try and stay away from too many condiments - mayo, ketchup, dressing, etc. Even though you are on the road remember to drink plenty of water since fast food tends to have a lot of sodium.
  • Awesome!!! Not really but really :) Congratulations on your progress!!!
  • If you lose weight gradually it will give your skin time to adjust better. It also depends on how long you were big and how much your skin was stretched out. My stomach is my trouble spot and I find cardio and ab exercises to be the best. They also say that doctors won't consider you for a tummy tuck until approx 2 years…
  • MFP is an awesome site and the people that use it are very motivational. I started here a little over a year ago and have had wonderful results. If you are looking for support please free to add me as a friend and we can help each other along the way.
  • I'm totally game! I need some motivation to get me past this plateau. Let's do this!!!
  • My "problem body part" is also my stomach. I dream of the day that I won't have BOTH an upper AND lower stomach but I am starting to lose hope. I have lost almost 70lbs and the saggy duo (although much smaller in size) still remains :(
  • It sounds like you have a fun leisure center. Good luck "dipping the dolphin" :) Swimming is excellent exercise and great for all ages.

  • Here are a few things I have learned along the way - Accountability - You are what you eat and generally most people think they eat better than they actually do. Once you start itemizing what you are eating you will realize that extra pat of butter or that second brownie aren't really worth it. If they are worth it you…
  • Good for you! As a fellow PCOSer I know how challenging a lifestyle change can be. After you realize how much better you feel it becomes easier over time. Best of luck to you and if you are looking for additional support please feel free to add me as a friend.
  • Awesome! You should be proud of all of your hard work. Congrats!
  • Try doing a lot of squats. I was unfortunately blessed with a flat butt but my husband tells me that recently it's become more shapely and the only difference is the bodypump classes. We do a ridiculous amount of squats in that class so I think that's it.
  • You look awesome! I bet you feel good too :) Congratulations!!!
  • I agree your calorie intake looks way to low. Should be around 1500 at least and that's w/o the exercise.

  • I've been stuck @ 179lbs for 6 wks and I work out like a mad woman. I have started to change up some of the things I eat. I also took a long hard look at my food diary and realize that I need to stay under my calories more often since I have a tendency to go over a few days a week :( Hopefully I'll start losing again soon…
  • I'm a pastaholic too and also insulin resistant. I treat myself once or twice a month to Barilla Plus pasta or egg noodles. They are lower carb options but you still feel like you are eating what you like and they really taste good too. Just remember your serving sizes and skip the garlic bread and other carbs that usually…
