I have aprox 10 more pounds to lose, so I am not done yet! But my journey started in June of 2011, so I am still working on it. :) I'll get there.... Needed to edit this. I am not sure when I lost the 100 pounds exactly. But losing the 130 + pounds is what I've lost so far.

Never give up! Get back up on that horse! And no excuses!

WTG! You're doing great!!

Agree with every, that MFP's protein guidelines are to low. I took a 12 week nutrition class and was told 70-80 grams of protein is sufficient when dieting. That of course is not for bodybuilding.... Good luck!
-
Very well stated... And glad you're doing better...
-
I've been watching my calories and eating healthy. So far it is working!! Eighty-seven pounds lost so far.. ;)
-
I have a chocolate protein drink...
-
I don't drink soda. Diet or otherwise. But I agree with this above.....

To get to my goal and not have anymore rheumatoid arthritis flares, ever ever again. And that this one will stop!

it is very possible the person that is losing 4 pounds a week on average had weight loss surgery and is being monitored closely by their doctors and nutritionists. So, unless i know all the facts, I am not going to judge anyone's weight loss... JMO
-
OMG.....how ignorant. I applaud anyone that has the balls to change their lifestyle and get healthier. It doesn't matter if the person had surgery or not. The outcome is what matters.
-
WRONG. Most people that have WLS, meaning the RNY or the Sleeve, 80% keep it off. Only 5 % of people that diet, keep it off. Anyone trying to lose large amounts of weight needs behavior modification. That should be the goal of any weightloss program. However WLS is just a tool. But to say most people gain their weight back…

This has fasting in it's title. But it's still myths and good info... http://www.leangains.com/2010/10/top-ten-fasting-myths-debunked.html

Great job! Hard work and determination always pays off in the end!

I'm 5' 3" and 3/4. LOL At first my goal was 135. Then my nutritionist told me for my height, 141 was doable. I guess I will wait and see how I look. I have friends my height, and when they were in the 130's they looked thin and frail, sickly. Their words, not mine. So I'll wait and see. Plus everyone is different. You have…

And that would be water weight. Ask people that have had weight loss surgery. They're consuming anywhere from 300-800 calories a day. They're dropping their weight. And supplementing with protein drinks and vitamins and minerals. I do believe in starvation mode, but I don't think it kicks in for the average dieter. And…

He sounds like an *kitten*. Bet he's always been one.....not just with you. Shake it off and move on. You're the better person...

You look wonderful! And younger! WTG! And keep it up!

I've lost 76 pounds so far and I'm still working on losing more. My goal weight is 141. I WILL GET THERE! I finally realized how much I was missing out on life. I also realized if I didn't change my habits and lose the weight, I was going to die. Best advice I can give is, it's a long process. You didn't gain the weight…

I've always thought I was 5' 4". I finally had my husband measure me. I am 5' 2" and 3/4'!! I had no idea I was "petite"! Now I know why even sleeves on long sleeved blouses where to long!! So my question is, I tall should I say I am ? LOL
-
Perhaps you can be sleeved. There are a lot of side effects to the lap band I've heard. Even my insurance now says they take out just as many as they put in. And the lap band does have to usually come out after 5-7 years. Perhaps look into the sleeve. Most people do very well after being sleeved...
-
I agree! I don't have the lap band. I have been sleeved. But I do get tired of posts from ill informed, ignorant people saying that if you've had any sort of weight loss surgery, you've done it the easy way! This isn't a game!! This is our life. If someone needs help, they should get it! They should ask for it! The facts…

NO. I don't think the government should mandate any resturant to list the calories in their food. However if they want to do it voluntarily, that would be wonderful! But to have the government step in and require restaurants comply with a law, NO. It's not the role of government to do these sorts of things...
-
OK, the band is not a good WLS. So people shouldn't even consider that. But the RouhNY and the gastric sleeve are very good procedures. And the gastric sleeve is getting more and more popular! Yes, there are some side effects to them. But most people do very well with them. In fact, they end up more healthy and keep that…

I was sick of being sick. Sick of not feeling good. Knew if I didn't do something soon, my weight was going to kill me.
-
You look fabulous! And you should be very proud of yourself!!
-
Actually the sleeve isn't high risk. It is no more dangerous than having your gall bladder out. Everyone is different, everyone has to weigh the benefits and their risks with their doctors. For the vast majority of people, weight loss surgery will save their lives and improve their quality of life! P.S. Although I don't…
