Welcome! Please feel free to join our menopause group here: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/506-near-or-post-menopausal-group I don't have an answer, unfortunately, other than to say it seems to "right" itself a bit AFTER menopause.

I lasted about 2.5 months and went back on. Ahhhhh.
-
So sorry you're having to deal with this crap.
-
Thanks for this.

I had a friend who had a patch. Her just kept falling off. I use a daily gel, and prometrium. I went off for a bit, but after 2 months the hot flashes returned. I'll try again later. 😂

Transdermal estrogen?
-
Fabulous. What were you using for HRT?

Resident "slow carber" here. I lost without counting, but have done some historical recreation. I probably averaged around 75 grams while losing, and now. I mostly avoid highly refined carbs (the hyper palatable, overly processed stuff kpk54 mentions), but don't limit greens, legumes, dairy etc.

This is what I've been saying! Thanks for this wabmester.
-
Nope. Not for pizza. I'd rather make a lower calorie one.
-
I'm very much liking this advice.

Join the FB group. Seeing so many people doing P1 at any time might be motivating. It's called: South Beach Diet Support Group (based on Dr. Agatston's original plan). PS Sorry for the delay. Was traveling.
-
I did. It happened around the time of supposed ovulation and was quite a bit like morning sickness. Doc prescribed some morning sickness meds, because it sometimes interfered with work. Fortunately for me that was a short "phase".
-
Was that the "Weight Loss Solution"?
-
I'm enjoying it. I love much about a "mediterranean" eating plan, and this fits right in. It's a slow carber's DREAM diet (almost).
-
I'm now about 1/3 of the way through the new The DASH Diet Mediterranean Solution. It has the solid work of the DASH diet behind it, without moderate use of grains. So far I'd say it's going on my list of formal diet plans to recommend.

Consider reading the old South Beach Diet book. It was an early version of a low glycemic diet. Or, for something more up to date, Dr. Ludwig's book "Always Hungry" provides a good blue print of low glycemic (Load) eating. Neither requires "counting" per se, just eating to satiety. The DASH diet weight loss solution book…

Thanks for this.

It sounds like you get a lot too!

Thanks for the reply. Being me, I've just downloaded the Mediterranean Dash diet book, having read all of the others.
-
You might find their weight loss book to be more of your liking then. It's a bit lighter on the grains.
-
Dr. Ludwig. Yes. The "Always Hungry" plan. I like it, but it's a bit more complicated than it needs to be. But basically, yes! The South Beach Diet (ORIGINAL) repackaged. In fact the original South Beach Diet author often quotes Dr. Ludwig. Thanks for posting this.

The tofu one is better in italian dishes, imho.
-
Check out both the original and the DASH diet weight loss solution (and the original South Beach diet on which the weight loss solution book is based).
-
NVM. I answered my own question. The original DASH. 🤓
-
Are you Curious: are you two following the original book or the DASH Diet Weight Loss Solution?
-
Makes sense. It's a pretty good model all in all.

Whoops! Missed again (I'm been lurking on the facebook group "South Beach Diet Book Support Group" and forgetting to check in here.
