I'm still at it! I'll hit the gym this afternoon.

I recently read on a meno doctor's website that the average weight gain during the transition is 15 pounds.

I don't think I was, because the supercharged one is my favorite. It explains the science better. But both are superior to the dumb mail order food option.

Thanks @lemurcat2 I didn't start the group. I just convinced folks to let me become an admin after the original one left. And yes, you're right. There was the south beach diet, and now there's a new south beach diet that's "keto friendly". It's still not all that low carb: up to 50 grams in P1 and much much more in P2.
-
Are you doing the original SB? It wasn't a low carb diet. The creator has come out with a low carb diet, recently, so perhaps you mean that one.
-
My goals for January are pretty simple: Cardio and weights workout six days a week Yoga and Pilates every other day no weekday wine.
-
As the OP I wanted to say, once again: THANKS to all who have replied. I'm sure we all appreciate it!
-
Still doing well. I've worked out six days this week. And even though I went to two parties I only ate a single thing that I didn't plan to eat. So there's that!🤓
-
I'm working out 5 days a week, so far I'm eating SLOW carb I have not lost weight I got a good night sleep last night, but I'd say that's the hardest part.

Did other women in your family have early menopause? it sure sounds like that. Including the dizziness.
-
Have you been tested for PCOS?
-
Almost all of them. Not a huge fan of mushroom, but I do eat them from time to time. Favorites include Brussels sprouts, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower and soybeans.
-
I do a Vinyasa class a couple of times a week, and a mat Pilates class a couple of times a week. Lately I've been adding more cardio and weights too.
-
I'm determined to work out 5 days a week in December. I'm determined to eat SLOW carb throughout the month. I'm determined to lose *some* weight. I'm determined to get restful restorative sleep.
-
Oh, yes, I agree. We generally only eat steel cut.
-
How have you failed? It's been a week. Give it time. DASH is generally good diet, but I agree with the post above. Juice is not a good choice for "fruit". It lacks fiber and causes a blood sugar rush.

In my family anything that can be cooked or served with rice, can be cooked or served with oats.
-
This is my take as well.

Jazzercise. 500 calories burned for 40ish minutes of cardio and 20ish minutes of strength training. Dripping with sweat, and already feeling it in my muscles. #notyourmommasjazzercise

Slow carb REPRESENT! Most days are between 75-125, if I'm guesstimating right. The "higher" carb foods are things like sweet potatoes, lima beans, baby peas. Been doing this since about 2002, ish. Just remember it was not long after 9/11.
-
Well done! I assume you know or think you've been having too much added sugar?

Layers for blankets, cotton is best Ceiling fans. Ice in a "hot water bottle"
-
Apparently.

Out of curiosity, for the person who disagreed with this post of mine, what did you disagree with?
-
South beach would be more like SLOW than low, but I agree, I feel less bloated as well.
-
Tim kinda hijacked the phrase, unfortunately. His diet IS overly restrictive (and not always logical).
-
I'm around. And still eating slow carb! Thanks for the tag @lemurcat2 You summed it up well. I started eating slow carb (with insights from south beach) before Tim ferris wrote his book and took my phrase lol. As I conceive of it, it's not a restrictive way of eating. It makes compliance very doable.

It looks a lot like the page 4 diet. Let us know how it goes. Nuts would be the biggest challenge for me.
-
I'm boring. I like a nice little sirloin, or a nice little fillet mignon. My least favorite is prime rib.
-
I like both. The tofu is more appropriate for Italian dishes I make. And the konjac is better as an asian dish noodle.
