  • I am tracking my macros, but I don't see an issue with balancing between 40-50 grams of protein. (On average).
  • Great point. If I get a message I tend to message back with: Thank you for the message. Although, I am happily married, and a mom of 2 boys so I don't think private messaging is appropriate for me. I know you are not asking anything specific of me, and I hope you can respect my request. We can be friends, however if you…
  • Yeah my percentages vary as well, but my breakdown tends to be low. I am vegan, but I don't restrict protein or hate protein or want protein at a certain percentage.
  • I'm not afraid of protein, I don't restrict protein. I eat what I want, when I want...I just happen to track my food and enjoy tracking my food. It just so happens that my average is about that percentage. I also had to google this FREELEE, not too sure what her standpoint is or what she does. But I will look into it.
  • Thank you to everyone who replied. I don't feel like getting into a this way or that way is the right way discussion. I've friended those who mentioned they eat similarly to me. Thanks for answering! Forums get to be touchy when you talk about protein, vegan, plant based....so I just want to say thanks for your concerns to…
  • Depends on the day. I don't have a set amount of calories or macros I aim for. I eat what I eat and I enjoy looking at different things like my nutrients on MFP which is why I track. Its a weird sense of fun haha. Example the past 3 days: 40ish today, 50ish yesterday, 30ish 3 days ago. But I'm happy eating this way and…
  • Not looking to debate. Just seeing if more people who look through forums eat like me.
  • https://www.cancer.org/latest-news/world-health-organization-says-processed-meat-causes-cancer.html You took your statistic from here but they say 5 to 6 percent for Colon cancer. There's several other & different risk increases like the 18% increase for colorectal cancer. From same cancer society page.
  • Unless you're a nutritionist I don't believe you should be handing out advice like a flower girl....unless you were asked personally. I'm a fan of MYOB. I never understood the people that run around telling others "you're doing it wrong" the world is full of different people..different lives...different…
  • There's plenty people on here that eat differently...some I feel eat way under a reasonable calorie minimum. But it's not anyone's job to correct or tell them what's wrong or right. I eat what I want. I happen to be vegan. I use mfp to track nutrients. I happen to average 10% protein for my macros. Not a big deal.
  • Omg. This forum is annoying. Above a person commented parasites are the reason we avoid raw meat...I was saying "sure" in a facetiously & responding to them. Sorry I didn't post a resource for sarcasm.
  • Clearly I made a post about a cookie recipe. I didn't want to spend my time researching and proving things to anyone, because I simply don't care. I was hoping to get a private message of someone who actually was interested or concerned because I didn't feel like having to answer multiple things at once like this on a…
  • Well it is difficult to answer multiple people at once on a forum for sure. Hence why I feel as though I am going back and forth on different things. I will pull out a certain portion of said document for you!
  • Sure the parasites are the issue. Maybe if we had shorter digestive tracks or a higher acidity level in our stomachs it wouldn't be a problem. Hm...pretty sure that would pertain to carnivore....which we aren't
  • My post was very vague. Me saying you don't need that much protein isn't restricting or suggesting anything at all. After you asked for facts I posted WHO who recommended 5% protein consumption would be the basic need. How didn't I back that up? I also didn't suggest an actual research study for raw meat and smoking. It…
  • I never suggested any percentage ... This all began because I stated my personal consumption. Then it somehow was misconstrued into my recommendation, and everyone saying that I suggested that for all. The only recommendation I DID suggest for all if you look above....is...Whatever works well for you and your daily life,…
  • Side note: To whoever mentioned that everyone now attributes cancer and meat consumption from a stupid documentary. Touche. But isn't it funny how the American Cancer Society has more recently named Processed meat as a carcinogen, in the same category as smoking!? Crazy huh!! :)
  • The World Health Organization, Cornell Institute of Nutrition, Nutrition and Dietetics Association all support veganism or Whole foods plant based diets as the healthiest diet. If you look at any study that suggest higher protein consumption it is typically put out or funded by the meat and dairy industry. I just was…
  • I aim to drink about a gallon of water in a day. Sometimes I make it and sometimes I am just under, but I feel like if I left it up to thirst I would not be appropriately hydrated at all. I'm just never thirsty. I've also researched briefly different things about hunger/thirst in your body, which can be confused. But I…
  • If you would like more information I could type something up...just private message me. I also agree I think if someone is selling something they are not credible, I.E. someone with a agenda to turn the world into whatever diet. Side note...I never named a research study, I mentioned non-bias sources I have read studies…
  • Plants tend to have on average 10% protein (on average there are some greater some less). Plants to me personally are the perfect food that we were designed to eat. There is a bunch of research behind all of my comments, DM me if you are interested. You must be right about people bulking and building muscle because aside…
  • Thank you! I happen to disagree with your first paragraph, but I suppose to each is own. There are various studies that will back up any opinion. That is why it is up to you to determine your credentials for credible research and things of that nature. I just try to look at who is funding the research, is it peer reviewed,…
  • If you are suggesting that the meat industry doesn't have investments in the nutritional board for coming up with new dietary guidelines, and they are completely not involved.....I suppose that is a pointless argument to get into because we stand on very different ends with very different thoughts. I have done a lot of…
  • Your body knows best! Stay hydrated and eat clean when you are actually hungry. It is a huge task to manage children, fitness, and dieting, so take it slow...and listen to your body and baby first! I am also in the same boat!
  • Did you know to become a doctor you typically have to only take an introductory nutrition course?! Not your area sir!!!! Wow that is so sad and funny all at the same time!!
  • 10% of my daily caloric intake is from protein yes. This averages about 45-60 grams of protein. I don't want to get too much into the whole Vegan topic, because people tend to get very defensive, but you don't need that much protein in your diet. Government run programs will tell you differently because meat makes money,…
  • That sounds delicious! I will have to try that. I would definitely go light on the maple syrup, but thank you for sharing!
  • That is so awesome! I suppose the whole diet/fitness thing is sometimes a compromise haha. But I am excited you tried them and let us know! I love them for a kid friendly option for better cookies too!
  • That's a great idea..I'll try that maybe next time I get a batch of these going. I'll have to save a portion for myself.
  • That sounds amazing! I'll need to research that
