  • In September, I started with a low impact Zumba class that comes in to my work once every other week. (I live in a small town and don't have a gym with a class so I haven't experienced a real Zumba class.) Then I got the DVDs for Christmas. There are 4 different DVDs and 6 different work outs for what ever level you are on…

  • Welcome and I love Zumba too!
  • You have to find something you love. I like getting on the eliptical but it was easy for me to quit. I am seriously addicted to Zumba. I wanted to Zumba twice today, but I knew I couldn't eat enough calories. I honestly can't wait to do it tomorrow. I have only taken 3 days off of it in the last 17 days. Two of those days…
  • i would love to help, but i'm still getting used to it! I started for real Dec. 27. It took a little over 2 weeks to get used to eating between 1200 to 1600 calories and to get used to planning appropriate meals and snacks. this has been my best week so far.
  • I want to lose 2 pounds a week and when I started I set my goal at 1200 calories. After learning that being under those calories is not healthy, I changed it to where I would lose 1 lb a week. I know that if I stay between 1200 and 1640, I will lose something. Honestly, as long as I'm losing something, I'm happy! I just…
  • I've done some research on this because I didn't know what to do about it. What I have found is exactly what you said. You must make it to 1200 calories. If that means you have to eat your calories to do so, then so be it. You don't have to eat them all, but you have to get to that point. Personally, my worst days are the…
  • 1. Take measurements! They will show more progress than the scale. 2. Don't weigh yourself every day. Pick one day a week and do it. (I am really bad about it.) I went 8 days without losing anything, in fact my story sounded just like yours. Then, on day 9, I'm down 2 pounds. 2 more days later, I'm down 1 more. 3. Make…
  • Honestly, I would talk to your doc next time you go in. Even your OBGYN could tell you what you need. I can't take a one a day either for the same reason.
  • I have to agree with many others... Zumba is the way to go. I started with a low impact Zumba class that comes in to my work once every other week. Then I got the DVDs for Christmas. There are 4 different DVDs and 6 different work outs for what ever level you are on or what you want to work on, i.e. abs, cardio, strength.…
  • Feel free to add me also... I don't have as much to lose, but I will stay with you every step of the way. chibipanda I am addicted to my Zumba videos! respinal08 feel free to add me too.
  • You can absolutely do this on any budget! I agree with the others.... you'll save if you cut down your portions and choose better for you foods. For example, buy a back of nuts... i know they can be expensive, but you can get MANY snacks out of it. As soon as I get home, I portion them out so when I need a snack I can just…
  • 400caloriesorless.com is a great web site one of my MFP friends recently told me about. We have cooked now 5 recipes and all have been fabulous. Last night we had Chicken Milanese and I put the recipe below. I highly recommend putting all of the recipes individually into MFP using the specific ingredients you are using. I…
  • I have the same concern. With the exception of the hula hoop, I didn't break a sweat. (I don't do the running; my knees can't handle it) I bought the Michael Jackson Experience and sweat much more on it than the Fit. I do love the fit though. I love how it measures my weight and BMI. It gets me off the couch.
  • From one beagle owner to another... welcome!
  • New Albany, MS... about an hour southeast of Memphis. It snowed on Christmas but the weather has been up and down since then.
  • Thanks for all of your thoughts! Y'all have some great suggestions.
  • Welcome to you both!

  • Hello! I'm a non-mom and would love to join your group! I started MFP this summer but when school started back, I dropped it. I am a teacher and I'm afraid if I don't have a good support system in place I'll do the same when school starts back on Monday.
  • Welcome, congrats, and good luck! This is a great place to keep track of your caloric intake.
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • I agree with everyone else, so I won't repeat anything except for mini goals! Set small ones to start chipping away at your big goal. Another thing I do is set my goal on MFP so that I will lose 2 lbs a week. However, I went to see how many calories I could consume if my goal was 1 lb. a week. There is a 400-calorie…
  • I'm not in my 20s but I'm only a few years removed (31). This site is great and you will enjoy the support. Good luck and feel free to friend me!
  • Welcome! SparkRecipes.com and http://400caloriesorless.com are two great sites that I use to find lower calorie recipes. Spark Recipes has a free app for iPhone, don't know about the others. Good luck!
  • I think the reason I have failed is because I have no support. I've decided to change that this time. We need all the help we can get!
  • It is absolutely the best part of the day! That number seems so attainable when it's presented like that!
  • Hello! I'm a teacher too. This is my 6th year and I agree with Robin. By the time you get home, you are so exhausted it's hard to do anything but collapse. Feel free to friend me and good luck on your journey!
  • You are welcome to friend me. I LOVE Zumba but I don't have it on the Wii yet. I have the videos and go to a class once every other week, or more accurately, they come to work. I'm aiming for the same goal you are too! Good luck!
  • Welcome and good luck! Feel free to friend me and we can do this together!
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • This is a great place to do it! Good luck!
