I've just started Stronglifts 5x5 at the gym - been doing it a few weeks but had to work up to OLY bar weight, on empty bars at the mo, start to pile on the weights from wednesday :)

YAY! I've now done both A & B days with the empty OLY bar (in the big boys corner - I think they're more scared of me now then I am of them!) so ready to start piling on the weights now! whoo hoo!

I'm using a combo of 30# pre-loaded bars and also the Body Pump bars and weights depending on which increments I need. I'm only on the OLY bar for deadlift...and even that is empty Glad to know I'm not the only one :)

I'm not in the power/squat rack with the 15kg bars, they are too short....will get to the power/squat rack when I get up to Olympic bars. Forgot about those racks that'll catch the bar if i fail because I'm just doing them freestanding at the mo! Duh me lol! Doubt I'm gonna fail freestanding under 20kg so all's well :)…

My physio taught me planks, cat/cow stretch and just to roll down slowly til your hands are past your knees every day I've been doing Stronglifts 5x5, and it has helped as its strengthening my back muscles big time!

Interesting...we're testing for heavy metals at the moment in periwinkles picked locally from the sea/rocks I have no idea who the 'less reputable' companies are though, I just noticed on my Myofusion it has a banner stating 'no banned substances' which I thought was odd...I'll look into it, thanks :)

my knees have started to make a 'crunching' sound when i bend them/go up and downstairs etc since losing weight and exercising :/ Some people say 'oooh knee op' and some say 'don't worry 'i've had that for years'

hi just started SL, and loving it so far, but I can only lift the olympic bar (empty) on deadlifts, I'm using the pre-weighted 15kg bars for the rest and working up to olympic Is everyone here using a 45# barbell...and the weights you're lifting...is that including the 45#? Thanks Karen x

I've got the book, but don't have all the equipment (only got barbell/weights and dumbells), and I'm not ready to walk into a weight room in the gym, especially with the book! Does angone know if stronglifts needs gym equipment, or are there any other programmes that just use weights?
