Wedding in 100 days! Need to lose 2" as dress doesn't fit! Help!
I'm 2" too big on bust and waist for my wedding dress! I have 100 days! Is it possible? I'm losing about 0.5lb a week, already lost 33lb. Best way to shift these inches please? Lifting, cardio, dropping calories or all? I know I can't target my weight loss but I can't afford another dress! Thank you

Keratosis pilaris - red blotchy skin on top of arms
I've got red pimply/blotchy skin on the top of my arms, looks a bit like a rash...always been there for as long as I remember. Anyway, finally found out it was there for a reason, and not just bad circulation and because I'm overweight. It's called Keratosis pilaris, an over production of keratin which blocks the pores and…

How many squats do I have to do to get an amazing *kitten*??
Is it true? will squats help me get a perky butt? or am I stuck with my genetically flat sorry *kitten* for ever? its hard to beleve how they can combat genetics AND gravity! ok, mines covered in a layer of fat at the moment, but once that fat goes am I just gonna get flatter? (and knowing my luck end up with piles and…

I've started heavy lifting, working up to oly bar level and now on week 2 of Stronglifts 5x5. Im eating under my TDEE and above my BRM, although it's close to TDEE on lifting days...but I have had the occasional cheat/binge (prob 2000 extra cals) I know inches are better than pounds/throw the scale away/muscle weighs more…

Shoes for squats?
Hi I'm doing Stronglifts 5 x5 and use the squat rack. My personal trainer (had him for a few sessions in the beginnng) advised me to squat with bare feet/socks as my trainers were bought specifically for running and are structured as I over-pronate. Just wondered what everyone else wears?...in my gym the guys seem to wear…

Body Pump class - start now!
If anyone was wondering about starting a Les Mills Body Pump class - start next week! That's when the routine changes so no-one will know what they're doing! I'm in the UK, but my instructor said it's a worldwide program :) Don't worry about what weights to use...some in the class don't use them, just start light and pile…

Friends with names beginning with A, Q, W and Z wanted :)
Hello! Ok, I don't have OCD (the mess in my house confirms this) BUT I look at my friends list on my iPhone (which is in alphabetcal order) and dont have any friends who's name starts with A, Q, W or Z and this makes me sad as those categories look all lonely by themselves :( Where are you all? are there any Q's and W's…

Working in catering/fast food/frying
Don't forget to allow for the calories you inhale by breathing in aerosol fat droplets caused from frying ;) On a more serious note...there have been some studies on people who 'fry' for a living having a greater risk of lung diseases. All sorts of chemicals are given off during frying - even stir frying I'm busy doing a…

Got the p**s taken out of me at the gym
Well, I joined the gym the other day to do my Stronglifts 5x5, today was first day there. Since I cant lift an Olympic barbell yet and am terrified to go into the big boys area anyway without being shown what to do first, I did my D3 A lifts in another corner with the 'body pump' barbell and weights (squat 16kg, barbell…

Advice needed on gym routine (& mini vent :))
Hi I've just joined a new gym. The reason for picking that particular gym rather than stay at my old one was I wanted to do SL 5x5 as well as cardio, my old gym does not have a free weights area/squat rack etc Anyway, I paid my membership and had my induction today. At first the PT/instructor asked what I'd done in the…

I'm planning on starting 5x5 tonight, but I LOVE my Body Pump twice a week (thurs pm and Sunday am) and dont want to give it up (at a push could just do my Sunday class) Not sure how to plan it...would BP be a bad idea on a rest day? (UK) DVD for lifting at home?
Just started Body Pump and loved it so much I've bought a barbell, weights and dumbells, and also the New Rules of Lifting for Women book. Thing is, I'm a visual learner, and need to actually see someone doing the lifts to be able to follow them, I find it difficult to do them from a book. My question is, is there a DVD…

Bad Moods when can't run!
Is it just me or does anyone else get really irritable/in a bad mood on days you can't/don't run? Not so much on rest days, as I'm used to them and do other exercise...but if I'm prevented from running when I planned to, or delayed, I turn into Godzilla!! I'm only on W6, so not exactly an athlete, and I do struggle with it…
