Twice this has happened with protein powders : Myofusion and MyProtein. Tasting a small particle of strong, chemical taste that almost feels lke it's burning my tongue, it actually hurts! Really put me off drinkng them!

Anyone else? is it normal? is it just unmixed protein?

    That... sounds... disgusting.
Fortunately, I haven't had that problem, nor do I know of anyone who's ever come by something like that. MY problem with my protein powder is that it's just way too damned sweet! Which is weird, cause I can usually handle super sweet things more so than most people I know, but it's quite overwhelming! Still delicious, but strong. I've tried watering it down with either more skim milk or water, but the sweetness is just there like BAM! So going forward I've just decided to have it as my dessert, but definitely not for my breakfast or meals anymore.

BTW: No, I don't think the strong sour/chemical taste is normal.

Why are you relying on protein shakes? Eat a decent source of protein in your diet, does everyone on here throw money away?

Who said I rely on protein shakes? I do stronglifts 5 x 5 and occasionally have a protein shake if I'm in a hurry, or for a snack

Why am I even answering you? I'd rather waste my money on shakes than my time explaining my reasons to you

Odd, I usually use myprotein and have never had any issues.

Is it a flavoured product? It may be one of the ingredients in that specific flavouring which disagrees with you.

I take it you are UK based.

    Next time try

    www.bulkpowders.co.uk or
    http://www.bodybuildingwarehouse.co.uk/bodybuilding-warehouse-premium-whey-protein-4kg

both good brands, not too expensive and taste good

alternatively(this is what i do) buy the unflavoured whey as it's cheaper and then get on or two of their liquid flavourings.

At first I thought it may have been something in my blender, but then when it happened with a different brand I guess it may be an ingredient...both times have been the chocolate one

Have you tasted a sweet/candy called toxic waste? really really unbearably sour....tastes like that....I guess its from not mixng it too well...I dont like it thick so blend for a few seconds only

She didn't ask whether or not you approve of her drinking protein shakes! Try keeping your unsolicited advice to yourself.

yes if you buy the 5kg bag and the flavouring it works out cheaper overall, also because the powder is unflavoured you can use it in any recipe regardless of the flavour of the ingredients.
