  • Was so pleased & lost 1.5lbs in 2 days on this last week then by Friday put them back on & they have stayed!!! Am always under calories with them set at 1,000 as per doctors orders but still no loss.AAARRRGGGHHHH!
  • He says the equation is simple if I don't lose weight on 1200 calories I am eating too much so to lower to 1,000 or as close to that as possible including, where possible, my exercise calories. He was quite specific that I should try to avoid eating any exercise calories. If I swim for 90 minutes I try not to eat more than…
  • Wow well done you, has taken me 9 weeks to lose 8 lbs but my doctor just says to eat less & not to eat exercise calories. Today for example with 1,000 calories per day as my target mfp says I have nearly 1200 calories left.
  • I concur with other responses some lean protein is needed & apparently too little protein leads to water retention so may be some chicken or turkey on the salad?
  • Well my doctor has told me NOT to eat my exercise calories & to try to stick to 1000 calories (that would probably be 1200 for a man) & at last I am losing weight. You are already losing so I would suggest not to force yourself to eat more if you aren't hungry surely it doesn't make sense? Some of what is said about…
  • Wonderful news (cue bells & whistles)you are an inspiration, very very many congratulations.

  • My 2nd day & lost another 0.8 lb so total in 2 days of 1.4 lbs !!!!!! Yayy am thrilled just sorry I have so many mouth ulcers at the moment that any eating is difficult.
  • Did it & weigh 0.6 lbs less today so now my second 1 day challenge as too busy looking after aged parents to exercise today, back to normal the rest of the week though with my daily swimming.
  • Well done for making the right decision. I am in Coventry UK & after a very slow start, in fact I gained weight at first ,but losing slowly now & happy to support you. No idea if any NHS help available seen my doc twice to no avail but you may be a little luckier than I have been.
  • Try 59 smells even worse!!!!!!! Gained weight due to ill health including major back surgery & my first 6 weeks on here did nothing but finally things starting to move so stick with it & good luck.
  • Yes I had already decided to try this on the non work out days so count me in. I already eat loads of veggies but no harm having even more.
  • Is simple conversion is wrong 7 stone 13lbs is correct.
  • Ladies I feel your pain even if I do not suffer in the same way but I have dealt with so many ladies with similar feelings in my career as an adult educationalist. I will say to you both what I have always said to them: the first & biggest step is to recognise the problem which you have done. Now you need to build on that…
  • Well my doctor has told me to stay as close to 1000 calories a day as possible even with exercise ( I swim as fast as I can for 5 hours per week, swimming is only exercise I can do due to health issues). I have been on here 8 weeks now but after 12 days had increased in weight, then lost some then increased by 6lbs…
  • It has taken me nearly 8 weeks to lose 6 lbs so you have done really well! Think about the reasons you started your journey & feel free to ad people for support. YOU CAN DO THIS & YOU DESERVE IT.
  • Now I am jumping in very late indeed to say DO NOT GIVE UP, like you my weight loss was non existent for weeks. In fact after 20 days I weighed more despite eating loads of "healthy " stuff & doing loads of swimming, which, due to medical problems is the only exercise I am able to do. Maybe there is a lot of truth in what…
  • Well done you, don't knock it. How I envy you has taken me nearly 8 weeks to lose 6lbs despite my doc putting me on or near 1000 calories per day & I do loads of swimming!
  • I think this all makes sense but unfortunately my doctor does not so has put me on LESS calories i.e. 1000 with no exercise calories!!!!
  • I too suffer with IBS but my symptoms are different & i have also had major stomach surgery & have been told to avoid cellulose & especially lettuce so wonder if this advice may also help. If I do eat lettuce I bloat terribly & have a lot of pain so I amke my sald with spinach, rocket etc
  • Well my doctor has told me to say as close to 1000 calories as possible even after exercise, some days I do some I don't.
  • Welcome. You will do this!!! I am based in UK & of a certain age with some health issues & having a very slow start but now losing just a little. Please feel free to add me for support & good luck you are in the right place.
  • I can see what you mean! If it doesn't work for you of course you can still lose weight but you won't be so fit or toned. What a shame you can't go swimming or how about a wiifit ? Without knowing more about your lifestyle it is difficult to know what to suggest & if you are so busy you may well be getting more of a workout…
  • Families are often like that & perhaps they feel you put them to shame & make them feel they should be making some life changes but currently don't have the courage to do it. You can always play a trick & wait til you have lost the extra weight before using it. We cannot choose our families & sometimes it is good that we…
  • Well after a week I shall have an idea of how accurate they are for me, I stress 4 me as think we are all different but shall be able to see how much I lose & how many calories mfp thinks I burned through exercise. My goal is now set at 1000 calories.
  • Congratulations you look so pretty & are an inspiration. Very well done now enjoy it.
  • Thanks again everyone, all so positive would be great to have you as pals so please feel free to add me. Have decided to try to stick to 1000 calories as per my docs advice & shall see how that goes before getting the hrm. Just back from a fabulous 80 minute in pool workout, put together a load of exercises myself much to…
