  • Do you find it's chalky/ grainy? I think I had the chocolate SunArrior and didn't love it. Might have to try the natural one. :)
  • Oh, I use the chocolate Shake n Go because it tastes great. Sme of the others in his line I find to be really gritty
  • Anything by Vega is vegan. I think the other name is Sequel. They're all formulated by Brendan Brazier who is a vegan Iron Man athlete. He created The Thrive Diet which is a great book that has loads of recipes all vega, primarily raw.
  • I know, I incorporate a bit of it but I find it's just way to thick to drink if I don't take some out. There's not a whole lot of pulp left by the time I'm done squeezing. LOL :) Thanks for the feedback though, always welcomed by me. :)
  • Thanks! :) I put everything in a vitamix and then strain it so I'd have to juice each one, strain it and measure it I guess. I'll check out the juices listed though and should be able to figure it out. :)
  • Hi Ginger, Me too, that's why I wonder if the people who lose were eating really poorly prior to making the transition. I'm not sure I could do raw food totally. My body tends to react better to food that is heated (which was actually shown in a digestive test I did). However, there is a new raw, vegan store opening up…
  • Awesome, WTG!!
  • Wahoo! Rock on rock star!
  • Tdaddybarlow....I can't wait to show my son your profile pic. He's absolutely wild for Transformers! And thanks everyone, hope to have more successes to share soon!
  • Cheers to that! :flowerforyou:
  • Well done! V,
  • Thanks lovelies. It's so nice to be around others who get that making healthy choices DOES feel good. I totally agree about the cravings, the longer I eat whole, nutritious foods and don't try to conform by eating chicken and dairy, the better I feel. I think the reason why there is the miraculous weight loss propaganda is…
  • Well said AnnaMaus. I think for me the feeling of burden comes from the fact that I'm just beginning to make vegan friends and the beginning few weeks were pretty lonely. And yes, I do have some meat eating "friends" (who are really my husband's friends, male and female) who are awful about it. We went to the Keg…
  • Thanks everyone! I really couldn't wait five weeks to know the answer!
  • Good for you for being willing to make a change! I feel so much better and healthier since becoming vegan. :) :) Some of the books I've really enjoyed are The China Study, The Veganist, The Kind Diet and both of Jae Steele's cookbooks. Jae is actually a holistic nutritionist so her books have a lot of information AND loads…
  • The BC comments scare me too. I was put on it when I was about 17. I lasted a week on it and had migraines every other day for over a month because of it. It does help some people but it's for sure not a cure all. Incidentally, you can take an extra cal/mag...it relaxes muscles so you won't have so much in the way of…
  • Well done!!! What an inspiration.
  • Totally agree Speedy! Glad to hear someone on the same page Daffodil. I just try to make good food and answer questions when I'm asked. I also choose not to eat around some people because they mock me. That really angers me!! people don't have to agree with me but I do want to be respected.
  • So I'm not just a freak show! LOL My hands are swollen to the point that my rings get uncomfortable and sure don't look nice. Prior to a workout they are easy to move and on really good days they jingle! :grumble:
  • Awesome, thanks everyone!!!! My fear is that mfp numbers might be too high for me too, Appreciate all of you!
  • I totally agree. If I'm honest, sometimes I resent the knowledge because it hurts my heart when I think about it. I would never go back, I love this lifestyle. Sometimes I do just feel so awful while we're out and I see what people are eating, withouth them even knowing. I hate being told that "I would rather just not…
  • So delish! Jae Steele has some yummy recipes to make cheese sauce. I am addicted to air popped popcorn with nooch and earth balance buttery spread. So yum!
  • Willing to try anything?? Try going vegan for a month. According to traditional Chinese medicine all of those symptoms are liver stagnation signs. I used to be doubled over in pain and sick as a dog every cycle (including brutal migraines). Adopted a vegan lifestyle for other reasons and lo and behold.....aunt flo is a…
  • Totally awesome". Your smile says it all!!!
  • Excellent, can't wait to share tips!
  • Hi Marie, 'Scuse my typos from this morning, had a babe in arms and just noticed them now. I have a friend who went to the Toronto festival, she said it was awesome!! :) I haven't read Becoming Vegan. Mine started with The Kind Diet and Skinny ***** (although I really thought a lot of their food in the end of the book was…
  • Where do you find the five spice dried tofu? Sounds yum!
  • I think we all need to be aware of how profit driven most things are in the world today. Monsanto holds the patent on Round Up Ready Tomatoes and also produces Round Up Ready. So, they make the tomatoes resistant to the pesticide and then use even more pesticide to grow the plant. That's part of what makes me try to avoid…
  • Totaly! Now I'm not cringing and wearing rubber gloves to prepare meals. If my husband wants me, it's usually him who cooks it now. Totally amazing, he's a complete meat eater and has recently adopted a much more veg lifestyle and is feeling a lot better. Never thought I'd see the day. I love Jae Steele's cookbooks. She's…
  • I love when I meet vegans who actually eat a healthy diet! Today my choices SUCKED but still better than most meat eaters I know! LOL Is everyone in your house vegan? We're a mix and have food allergies as well so meal times are very interesting around here. :)
