What sort of pain ? You need good fitting shoes for running/jogging. Do your nikes feel comfortable when exercising? If your feeling pain then stop and work out why, don't hurt yourself.

10-11min miles for a marathon is great going. 10:30 equates to a 4hr 35min marathon. The median marathon time for a woman in the US is 4hr 44.

why is it frowned at? I use mine regularly when the weather is too bad or i want to run fast with no interruptions. It is a general rule of thumb that a 1% incline will equate to the wind resistance of running outside.

The 2 are not really comparable. Running could be jogging at an easy pace or sprinting up a steep hill. Both will have drastically different levels of effort.

best way would be to wear a hrm and use an associated app to get a calorie estimate. I use polar beat and a bluetooth hr belt. Yeah. Have around 300 cals for breakfast, the same for lunch and save 1000-1400 or so for dinner. Can't handle being hungry in the evening but actually like being hungry during the day, it makes me feel more alive!
