I think that what you're asking is a deeply-personal thing... what works for me may not work for you. That said, the things that have helped me to lose the extra tonnage are: 1) Keep a food log... & be obsessive about it. I've found that as soon as I let the food diary slide, so goes my weight loss (& maintenance). The MFP…

Did this issue ever get resolved? I had a day (4/16/17) where I biked for 36 mins (559 cals), and walked for 9785 steps, but "burned/adjusted" over 5300 active calories for the day. I disconnected from MFP after that one! Does this just happen occasionally, or what?

After being satisfied with it for over a month, suddenly things have gone quite wrong with syncing for me also. I've disconnected from GC - yesterday it gave me a whopping 1900 calories for walking 8900 steps. Something's definitely wonky with it, for sure.

"It's really sooo sweet that you care sooo much for me and my health, but I'm afraid that I already have a boyfriend/husband/significant other. Don't worry, I'm sure it's only have puppy-love that you're feeling, you'll find someone, someday."

Sharing this video on my FB!! :D

Lot's of interesting thoughts & insights here... I'm wondering; if one does some form of exercise (even just walking for 30 mins.), your body will "burn hotter", and use more calories throughout the entire day. I personally use MFP as a "balance sheet" - my goal has always been to hit as close or under 0 calories remaining…

I really like THIS Sesame seed crispbread from DietDoctor.com I make it as described in the recipe, but with pre-roasted sesame seeds, and substitute 1/4-cup of the sesame seeds with sriracha (hot & spicy) seeds. Nutty, filling and delish!

If what you refer to as "healthy" as being low-carb, then Diet Doctor has an almost no-carb pizza crust: check it out HERE! Lotsa calories (525 per serving!), but low carbs (Dietdoctor sez 7, but I come up with 12gms per serving). Beauty is in the stomach of the dieter's goal, I guess.

Just popped-over to Dr. Sebi's website, home page was the store front. Alright - Sooo, say I buy the male "All Inclusive" package - for $1,500. How much product do you get? A one-day/month/year supply? Is this recurring???? My opinion - This just screams "SCAMMMM"

^^ Times 10, again. To be sure, there is no perfect way to communicate... anything. Seems to me the OP needs to calm-down, and find the valid takaway from the message. I applaud the gym instructor for offering a piece of valid knowledge, it seems to me that either the OP (or their kid) has personalized the point of the…

I too recently purchased a BKool Pro trainer, I'm still on the 1st. month of my subscription, and I've only used the thing maybe 10 times, but I find it much easier to use than a treadmill. Even watching a TV, treadmills bore me to death!! I actually look forward to my ride tomorrow evening, maybe I'll tour the french…

I feel your pain (well, back pain, at-least), Brother... I too am recovering from a recent back surgery. I started using MFP, and started to gain a healthy lifestyle several years back, after my 1st. lower back surgery; 7 years ago I had an L3/L4 laminectomy, and was warned that the level below may give me "issues"…

I've noticed a significant loss in performance in MFP, since it started to be "Powered by UnderArmour" and they've launched their pay-for site. Both the PC & Android platforms are now almost glacial. Oh well, another one bites the dust!

Sounds to me like an upper spine nerve impingement... been there, done that!!

No - I need to disagree with you... ;-)

Resistance bands, perhaps?

I use coconut oil for stir fries - I use the frozen pre-made (birds-eye) stir-fry veggies, add 3-4 oz of chicken/ham/whatever's in the frig... & fry it in a tablespoon or 2 of coconut oil... Yummy!

If you workout with a phone for music - consider getting one of the bluetooth monitors. I have a Zephyr HxM that I've paired with my Samsung Galaxy S3... works great! There are several apps that work very well, my 2 favorites are Endomondo & SportsTracker.

This really is the perfect answer.

I can SO relate to what you're going thru - for about 10 weeks now, I've been having night-time hunger/binge issues, a real desire to eat junk, and overall laziness when it comes-down to working-out. It seems that as soon as I started to near my goal, I lost motivation & started to slide. I haven't lost any weight in a…

I can't imagine that you'd be suffering muscle pain from the juicing. After-all, you just started today - the pain must be from something else. I also can't imagine that juicing fruits & veggies is bad for you, so if you want to juice... then juice!

Love peaches flavor, HATE the fur! I'm a nectarine kinda-guy.

Yes... yes, we certainly are... and all wives are saints for not strangling us insecure, silly men!!

I think he's feeling threatened - and he's afraid to lose you... confidence is waning... "Hey - why are you losing the weight anyway? Are you getting ready to leave me for someone younger & more physically fit?????" I'd be more worried if he didn't care what you did. Of course - support and praise would be great, I guess!…

Hmmm, I always thought that EVERYTHING with bacon in it is good stuff, but I think I'll need to amend that now thought. (yark!).

I think that Metacognition is using her numbers as an example, and not to be taken as literal. She said that she counts something "that really elevates my heart"... the numbers are her's, & everyone needs to discover "their heart rate numbers"... but I could be wrong. That's what I do also. I have a problem where my heart…

Agreed - to a point... they better NOT mess with "City on the edge of forever"!! Some things need to be left alone!

If you run with a phone (for music or GPS), then I'd recommend using it as your heart rate monitor. You certainly want a HRM with a chest strap, they just seem to work better. I use my phone & a Zephyr HxM HRM, which connects to your phone via Bluetooth. There are a variety of apps that will allow you to track your…

I've been running for about 18 month now (I'm 53). I started by walking for several weeks, but then got bored. I did the C25K thing, and have been running a 5K run at least 3 times/week ever since. I've NEVER run before, even in grade/high school - I couldn't even finish the 600yd run without walking part of it. Even…
