Small Space Available, Strength Work Out Ideas?

Hi Everyone!

So with my job I wait on standby all day inside of a work truck with a camper on the back. Just looking for ideas that I can do to work out while I am at work? The great thing about being on stand by is I have a lot of time to do this. I am not permitted to do it outside, only in my camper, where it is cramped back there. I have a little stepper machine back there that I use for my cardio but need some ideas for strength training without any equipment as I have to keep the camper free of clutter.

The area I have to work in is only about 3 ft wide by 6 ft long. Good thing I am short! Lol. So far I have been doing wall push ups (floors are really dirty back there), squats, and lunges. Anyone have any other ideas? Can't do wall sits as there is shelving along the walls.

Any ideas would be great!

can you put a mat or towel down so you can sit on the floor? Then you can do pushups, plank and other core exercises.

    Resistance bands, perhaps?

Resistance bands.... you should have plenty of room to use some adjustable dumbbells and do some seated rows, chest press, etc. The ones I have fit in a nice little black case that can be tucked away pretty much anywhere.

TRX type system would work well if you have somewhere that you can hang it from but if not, I would go for resistance bands if you are looking to use equipment.

Body weight exercises are awesome and there are tons of examples online. nerdfitness.com is one site I have looked at but there are a ton of others.

As for the dirty floor, sweep it up or lay a yoga mat down.

What kind of job is that so I know NEVER to apply for one of those?

You Are Your Own Gym or Convict Conditioning? Depending on your space, you might need to jerry-rig something for the "pull" type exercises (pullups, inverted rows, etc.). But other than that, neither program requires much space or time, and both seem to have a good range of difficulty so you can start where you're comfortable and ramp up from there. The advanced stuff in both is pretty hardcore.

Interesting situation you have there. Good job on being resourceful with your available time and space!

I bet you could pull off this (very intense) workout in the space you have: http://www.menshealth.com/mhlists/high-intensity-circuit-routine/printer.php

I think you can google anything related to prison workouts. No joke. I was told by a few detention-center-related-co-workers that Insanity was developed by an inmate, because it's something you can typically do in a tiny space and without weights. I'm sure it's rumor, so please don't shout me down, but from what I've seen it's something that can be done in a very small space.

Not to mention anything body weight: squats, push-ups, lunges, jumping jacks, jacknives, tricep push-ups, bicycle kicks, etc.
