You have to want it for yourself, no-one else can be motivated for you :flowerforyou:

So you were obese, your doctor told you that you were obese but you got offended because even though the BMI scale said you were obese you wanted your doctor to call you overweight?
-
For the majority of MFP users this is not silly advice, it's exactly what they are looking for. Telling some people to ignore the scale is pointless because they are only interested in getting to a certain weight (even if that means skinny fat) Just because that doesn't apply to you doesn't give you the right to dismiss it…

This makes no sense at all

I'm really sorry but I think you may be wrong, according to the calculators your BMR is around 1485 your TDEE will be higher than this, that is the number you should cut from, you definitely shouldn't go under 1485, that's what your body would burn if you were in a coma :flowerforyou:

This is utter rubbish. We both live in Bolton and I happen to know that help is readily available. You need to visit your GP who will refer you to one of the many mental health/counselling services available in the Bolton area. There are at least 3 NHS services available in the town centre alone.

How much are they differing by? If it's only by around 100 calories it's fairly negligible. I always go off http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ It has been a good calculator for me and hasn't hindered my weight loss by using these numbers. I am sure other people will suggest other calculators that take more…

I think the clue is in the "quick weight loss" I don't know why people feel the need to rush their weight loss, slow and steady means you're much more likely to find it sustainable in the long term. Glad you found MFP :flowerforyou:
-
How long did you up your calories for? You have to give any changes 8 weeks to take effect. Do you eat back exercise calories?
-
I was just thinking the same
-
I'm pregnant so I'm eating some truly strange combinations but I haven't gone as far as some of you have
-
You translated it on Google? You realise it probably meant something completely different to what you read? Facebook is like the rest of the internet, it's fairly anonymous and people say whatever they want, sometimes you just have to ignore the idiots :flowerforyou:

Hi, I will be 18 weeks on Wednesday. I don't know about eating healthy but I'm still tracking and trying to stay within macros. I'm 5ft6 184lbs (up 6lb since conceiving) and aiming for 2192 calories per day. I don't generally exercise (but I wasn't before I was pregnant so no big change there!) It's not really been any…
-
Just to clarify. If your BMR is 2000 you should be eating ABOVE that. According to http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ your TDEE after exercise is around 3000 a 20% cut from that means that in total you should be aiming for around 2400 calories per day
-
In the grand scheme of things 70 calories is not a huge deal. I'd probably go with the HRM as it is set to your statistics :flowerforyou:

How are you calculating your burns? Are you using a heart rate monitor or MFP estimate?

It's definitely not muscle, you can't build muscle on such a huge deficit. 1lb is nothing at all to worry about, don't get obsessive, it could be water weight or stomach contents etc
-
Calories in vs calories out for weight loss, in my case macro balance hasn't played a huge part, but you must make sure you don't have too large a deficit because a) your body does need calories to function, b) it's not sustainable and c) as soon as you go back to eating a "normal" diet/ want to transition to maintenance…

I'm pregnant at the moment but when I am feeding I will probably have my calories set at "gain 0.5lb per week" to make sure I am getting enough calories for the milk supply (this way all the macros will be correct) I won't be too concerned about losing weight while feeding, I want to make sure the baby is happy and healthy…

Did you read ANY of the responses?

I'd say "well I could eat it, but I really don't want to end up looking like you"

I used to accept everyone, then I realised how many people I actually have nothing in common with and would hate to know IRL so I deleted all but the best of them. Even now my profile says do not request me if being deleted will offend and still I get whiny, needy messages asking why they got deleted. :explode: ^^Just read…

At about 40lb lost my wedding and engagement rings started getting loose, at 60lbs lost my husband replaced my engagement ring, at 90lbs lost I could probably do with getting it made smaller. My original rings are kept safe and when I get to goal I will see if I can get them resized. I have no plans to ever need them…

I'd definitely go with lightly active, that takes into account 1-3 hours of activity a day which would include your cycling and weekend workouts, although even if you chose sedentary and added back your exercise you'd probably be eating the same amount of calories so it doesn't really matter :flowerforyou:

Food (and parcels) :flowerforyou:

MSN posted this article about an hour after posting the top 14 foods you should never eat which included McDonalds (but also included strawberries, wheat, beef, beansprouts, popcorn and ice cream!!) Scaremongering at its worst :noway: According to these posts I should be riddled with cancer, have lung damage, be morbidly…

Binge drinking weekends, too many takeaways, not enough exercise and generally being content

Sold them all on ebay, then got pregnant and wish I'd held a few bits back :grumble: :ohwell:
