That's down to your staying power and how much you want to lose the weight. The crash diet way of doing it is not sustainable, the slow weight loss has more chance of staying off because it's easier to transition to maintenance

My diet has significantly improved over the last 5 years but my sugar intake is still a lot higher than the MFP recommended. It hasn't hindered my weight loss or affected my health. Probably not. I'm eating 2000, I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I'm still losing on some days (not intentionally. I was actually at 2600 cals yesterday and it hasn't affected the scale yet) but you should be speaking to a doctor not random internet strangers
