I have just recently opened my eyes to the sodium in foods. It's scary how much sodium is in so many foods I eat. I've had to really start watching the labels because even things you think are good to eat, i.e., cottage cheese, is high in sodium. Maybe you can try making your own tuna and that way you can control how much…

Oh, you are NOT alone with that. I usually skip working out for a day or two before my period and definitely the day of. I always have cravings, too, especially for chocolate. It's terrible! I would love to know a secret to taming those cravings around that time.

You could always go meatless and make a Lentil chili: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Lentil-Chili-II/Detail.aspx It's really good and good for you. :)

Thanks, guys. I'll go check out the group on here. Yeah, I've heard that gluten is in A LOT of things and that it can be very difficult to not eat it.

I love ALL chocolate but I can only go as high as 70% for dark chocolate. Any higher and it's too bitter for me. I know the higher the better, though. Have any of you tried the new Jello Mousse?? Oh, it is sooooo good!!! They are only 60 calories each! I've only tried the regular chocolate flavor but there is a dark…

I've been doing another running program for a while now and the longer runs used to freak me out, too, but they just work. It's weird. Then once you do it you just can't believe it and you are so proud of yourself. :) I'm going to start from Day One on the C25K program even if it's easy for me. I want to go through the…

Can I join? I'd love to do this with you guys. I'm probably going to hold off on the push-up part since I cannot even do one girly one. :blushing: I don't know why. I guess I need to strengthen my arms. Anyway, I'm all for the sit-up and c25k challenge, though. I have my own treadmill and a gym membership so I'm good to…

You can do this! Just take it one day at a time. Small steps and goals. :) I found that when you make little changes here and there and lose weight slowly the better success you'll have. Good luck and this IS your year!!!! :)

I'm not sure about seltzer water because I'm just a plain water drinker but I do avoid aspartame or any of those artificial sweeteners. Even most of the sugarfree gums that I "used" to chew I noticed had sorbitol or another fake sweetener. It's really in so many things that you may not even realize it but I try as best I…

Congratulations!!!! That must be a great feeling.

I love adding banana or blueberries when they are in season. Lately I've been adding pomegranate arils which taste fantastic!

Dr. Oz just mentioned something about this exact problem. I get nauseas, too. Anyway, he suggested taking "half" of the multivitamin in the morning with your meal and "half" at night with your meal. He said that a whole multivitamin is like an overload to your system so by breaking it in half and taking a smaller dose it…

I cook mine in the microwave, too. I add a little brown sugar and cinnamon and blueberries when they are in season. I never thought of adding nuts. That sounds great! I will definitely try that. I've never had steel cut oats. Do you cook them the same way?

We are not getting either flu shot. We never get the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 just freaks me out a bit. I think it was thrown together to quickly and after the neurological side effects from the flu shot in the 70's, I'm passing on this one .

I'm mommy to an Alyssa, too. I can't think of any one food that I really miss. I don't deprive myself from anything and if I want it and it's really bad, I'll have a bite or two. It's been working out great for me. I think what I miss the most if just how much of something I can eat. Since I'm watching my…

I've only been once and LOVED it! I got a chicken soft taco but if I go again I would get a bowl and have chicken, beans, pica de gallo, lettuce and that's probably it. I wouldn't get the cheese or sour cream. I love how spicy the chicken is.

I avoid it completely. I guess just reading all the research on it with artificial sweeteners and the effects on your kidneys, teeth, etc., I just don't drink it at all.

I can't help you but I'm glad you posted this question. I usually manually enter my walking/jogging workouts but I was curious how you get the calories burned for the 30day shred. I've seen some posts with calories burned and I'm not sure how they got that. Thanks for posting this.

I love the Quaker Old Fashioned oats in the cylinder shaped container. The way I make mine is I follow the "heart" healthy serving size which I believe is 3/4 cup of dry oats. Then you add a pinch of salt and 1 1/2 cups of water or milk. I prefer water and I put in just under 1 1/2 cups of water because I prefer my oatmeal…

Oh, those sound divine! Thanks for sharing that.

Perfect! Thank you. :) I wish all restaurants posted their nutritional information. We have a few "favorites" local to us that are not chains and I have no idea what the calorie count is for their food. Thanks again!

Bethany, I would love to be your online partner. I don't think you need to have someone in person to help motivate you. We can work together and support each other by checking in daily or weekly and setting goals together. If you are interested, just let me know.
