I find that iSmoothRun uses less juice than RunKeeper. I am wondering what to do this weekend also. I have been able to use iSmoothRun for three hours, but the area that I will be running in has little cell coverage, and I always find when I am down there that my battery runs down super fast, just with normal activities…

Why not get raw fruit instead of canned or precut? I live further north than you, and we still get fresh fruit.

Okay, so I am going to ask you the question that everyone asks me - so what did you eat during this 60 days? Just animal products?
-
Like a stomach cramp or a muscle cramp? I'm not quite following.

The biggest thing is to stick close to whole, naturally gluten-free/egg-free foods as much as possible - fruits, veggies, potatoes, nuts, seeds, animal products if you eat them, etc. rather than relying on store bought commercially processed gluten free foods. But of course you will want recipes as well for those things…

I love iSmoothRun. Works with your RunKeeper account.

A couple of recipes that I just posted on the other thread: Bread: http://aprovechar.danandsally.com/?p=228 Pancakes: http://www.grainfreeliving.com/recipes/pancakes/82-buckwheat-pancakes I have lots, just let me know what you want.

Absolutely! There are a number of vegan and gluten free blogs around that will have lots of recipes for you. If you let me know what you are looking for, I'd be happy to help. I have lots of recipes! Here's a bread recipe to start you off: http://aprovechar.danandsally.com/?p=228 And I love these pancakes:…

It gets easier with time. Be gracious, bring great food to events, thank people who try to accommodate you, be totally honest about what you can and can't have. Don't make a big deal of it. Enjoy exploring new cuisines, but also find ways to get together that don't involve food.

A few weeks for me.

I don't have an immediate reaction either. I'm always angry if I find out after the fact that I was contaminated with something. I know it affects my long-term health, even if it doesn't make me sick right away. I don't have diabetes but I know that general principles of eating and meal planning. What is the problem that…

Those are all fairly reactive fruits. - banana and pineapple are tropical fruits, which are pretty high on the list if you have allergies or oral allergy syndrome - strawberries are high in histamines - apples are very high in fructose Maybe try blueberries for a start. Maybe watermelon. Try eating something else before…

Yes, you're probably detoxing. I was headachy, shakey, irritable, tired, etc. for several weeks.

We have a gluten-free group with lots of advice for newbies: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/129-gluten-free Best thing is to stick to whole foods, not to try to substitute and afford a bunch of commercially process products high in sugar and starch. Eat fruits, veggies, beans, nuts, seeds, unprocessed animal…

If you are B12 deficient, you need to be diligent about taking those supplements. B12 deficiency can cause permanent nerve damage. Damage that can never be reversed.

I stand corrected! McDonald's claims there is no cross contamination either, that they are fried in a dedicated fryer. http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/ukhome/whatmakesmcdonalds/questions/food/special-diets/are-mcdonalds-fries-gluten-free.html
-
Mcdonald's fries are not wheat free, so . . . And fries anywhere can be gluten contaminated as there is generally not a dedicated fryer for them, so they are fried in the same oil as battered fish, chicken, etc.
-
If you eat them, count them. If fruits and raw veggies are putting you over, eat them first. If you are losing inches, then don't fuss about the scale not moving right now. 1200 calories may be too low for you.

Agreed, you do have to just suck it up and make the time. I work full time, homeschool my 13 yo special needs kiddo, am in charge of the children's ministry at church, cook all from scratch due to dietary restrictions, and fit in time for reading, writing, and helping others in support groups. I get up at 5:30 and from…

I wear Asics. I need a shoe with a deep heel cup because of my lift on my shorter leg, and extra shoelace eyelets closer to the foot in order to lace them up properly so they don't slide around with my lift and smaller foot. However, the Asics do have a split last, stitched right in the middle of the arch, which can cause…

My diary is open as well. Grain free, vegetarian, dairy free. Lots of whole foods, some home made baking. Very little processed.

Chili is great and one of my standbys, by won't do cold. I am thinking maybe a black bean & avocado salad with salsa. I'm pretty sure raw pasta would be frowned upon. We're talking cattle ranchers here. For myself, I'll need a lot more calories than that post-run, though with various kinds of salads, it is fine if one or…

My diary is open. Vegetarian, dairy free, grain free. There are a number of good blogs and books around.

Homeschooled my special needs kiddo from birth. He is almost 14 now, well socialized, still working hard at overcoming his rather severe learning disabilities.

My family is on restricted diets, all the food we will be preparing will cater to our restrictions, but provide a well-rounded meal to the in-laws, who are omnivores not on a restricted diet. We prepare a meal for them because the restaurants in the area will not suffice, and because MIL is not able to provide a meal that…

Oh, I would waaaay overeat that, and everybody else would turn up their noses!

I was married at 20; at age 23 we had already been through fertility testing and were waiting to adopt. DS was born when I was 26, his bmom was 24, and she already had another. Some people are ready at 20 or younger, some people aren't ready until they're 40. Age does not equal maturity or ability. Only you can evaluate…

No Traders around here, LOL. I'd have to go over the border for that.
-
No grains, so corn-tortilla bar is out. Hummus is good, I didn't think to mention because I always travel with hummus anyway. I doubt the inlaws will eat it, but kiddo and I will.

Maybe I can sprout lentils, too. They're usually pretty quick, and we don't need long tails, just nice to eat . . .
