Eggs are good and fairly cheap. I always check the marked down meat bins - but still check to make sure it's in your budget. Sales. Go shopping more often, buy less food per trip. If there's no good sale don't buy. Dried beans, lentils, split peas, brown rice. See if you can find bones- they're in the freezer section where…

Good luck! I just finished 4 weeks strict and am feeling amazing. Just starting the reintroduction of some foods. Feel free to add me!

Yes. He did order the antibody test, and that's what he gave the diagnosis off of.

I wasn't trying to say it would cure or treat anything- just that it helped alleviate symptoms from a disease I've been suffering from for 14 years.

He is not an endocrinologist. Seeing one currently isn't possible. The doctors I had for the first 13 years were endocrinologists and I never remember a single one saying Hashimotos. I specifically asked one of them along the way when I learned what it was and he said I didn't have it. My next appointment is in 2 weeks and…

I've been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism for 14 years and have been taking medication for most of that time. 6 weeks ago my latest doctor told me that it was Hashimotos. No one had ever said that before I so looked it up. I have been on this dosage of Synthroid for 3 months, I was on a different dosage previous to that.

I've been on this dosage of meds for 3 months. The diagnosis of Hashimoto didn't change the dosage as it's the exact same treatment as Hypothyroidism. The meds have never gotten rid of my symptoms during the last 14 years even when my labs were good, which is why I decided to try the elimination diet. My doctor wouldn't…

I know. Do you have any ideas for how to stay with it? I use food for comfort but can't while on AIP

After looking online for a way to alleviate my Hashimoto symptoms (I still have the majority of them even when my numbers are "normal") I've decided to try out the Hashimoto diet for a week first to ease into the transition, then go full AIP for 4 weeks and hope it does something. After 15 years of Hypothyroid/Hashimoto…

Has your fitness level improved? Are you keeping up with and logging the fit tests? I think he says to do them every two weeks.
-
You stay away from salt, and frozen packaged foods but eat pre packaged deli meats? Not judging- just sounds incongruous. I have nothing new to add- you're eating too much and not moving enough. You need to weight everything and log it. Every day. Every meal. If you don't know then make the best guess you can. Good Luck!…

Go find a different doctor (if you can) or Demand he do a blood test for your thyroid if you think it's a possibility- you (or your insurance) pay him so you can call the shots. Also see if you can do a metabolic test so you know where your metabolism is actually at. Good luck!

I have so much love for this.

I am SUPER jealous over here over your "dude arms". Great job!

Vegetables ARE carbs. Just had to point that out. Grains (bread/rice/pasta/potato) are pretty difficult to fit into your MACROs when you eat 1200. You can certainly still have them, but substituting more vegetables in is actually a really great idea.

Thank you. I'm currently taking thyroid medication and we'll be testing my BRM again after a few months to see how/if it's helping that. I just picked 500 because of the article. I'll look into TDEE.
-
I am seeing a Dr. That's where I got the BMR results from after taking an official medical test. And the numbers are that low because of my Thyroid issues. Thank you so much for reading the post.

Right. It's a net of 657. Thanks. :) I don't plan on netting only 657- I'm not sure that's even nutritionally possible.

Thanks for idea of a standing desk. I would have to look into using books like you said. I do walk around at least once an hour.

The only help I'm asking for is if my math is correct. I am seeing a Doctor and will be asking him about how I should proceed- I just wanted to make sure I was understanding everything so I don't look like an idiot.

I'm not signed up on it- but I use it for articles, motivation, and their exercise videos. Love it.

YogaJournal.com has a great library of exercises and guides- all for free. I love the DVD collection of Namaste Yoga by Kate Potter: Nice and slow, short (30 min sessions that include warm up, flow, and cool down), touches on anasa (poses) as well as prayana (breathing), and has a light spiritual and meditative quality…

Great work!

OP- see if you can find a place to get your BMR tested. I recently did and found that mine is only 995 cals. (which is much lower than even the "low end" of the BMR chart). It is possible that you don't need as much as 1.200 depending on you lifestyle, body, and exercise plan. However the only way to determine that is to…

I weigh myself, but mostly out of curiosity. My goal is to lose BF% and gain more muscle tone. I pay much more attention to the photos and measuring that I do for my progress. It's all about body recomp. Last time I was really working out I went from a very soft (post pregnancy) 130 to a toned 129. Only 1 lb difference but…

Great job! Your progress is great. Congrats on the photo shoot as well.

If you have access to a Doctor I would check with them.

You had these same funds when you gained weight- how would you not be able to lose weight for the same amount of money?
