Support for AIP?
I'm starting my second week of the Autoimmune Protocol and wondering if anyone else is on it or tried it? I've seen some improvement but not as much as I want and just feeling a bit frustrated.

30 Days on Autoimmune Protocol for my Hashimotos
Links to specific information are cited at the bottom, correlating to the number in my post. TL;DR – If you have ANY autoimmune disorder try the Autoimmune Protocol (1) yourself. In 30 days I saw improvement in my mood, several symptoms, and lost 7 lbs (138-131) without exercise. I’ve had Hypothyroidism for 14 years. 6…

MapMyRun in Europe?
I'm currently in Germany and am having trouble with the MapMyRun app not properly logging my full route- it starts the time, but puts the starting point anywhere between 1/10 and one quarter into the run. I'm not an avid running but would like to know if I'm doing better or worse on my run times. Does anyone else in Europe…

*I do have a Dr's apt scheduled, but I want to be sure I'm going in with the right information/questions* My BMR is 964 - this was the result given to me after I took the BMR test by my Doctor. Quality vs. Quantity
I'm not entirely sure if Gaining Weight is the right area for this post but you guys on here are WAY nicer than the "regular" section of MFP. Quick back story: I used to work out and lift and eat right and got great body comp results. I was doing it pretty much 100% on my own. Then I got pregnant and excuses took over. I'm…

What if calories were backwards?
I was thinking the other day: What if how calories affected our bodies was backwards? Like if you ate 3500 calories you would LOSE weight, and when you exercised you would be ADDing those calories to your weight?

Here is your motivation to work out:
I saw this video the other day and something about it just clicked. I knew that I would never have motivation issues again, all I need to do to is watch this video: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=686862814709307 While trying to figure out how to embed the video on MFP (which you can see I failed at) I found this…

Pro Tip for outdoor running:
Do NOT take your German Shepard (5 mo old) with you on your first outdoor run. When he realizes you're a weak suck and slow runner he will just walk beside you while you die jogging making you feel completely out of shape and pathetic. Note: I usually run/jog on the treadmill where I don't have to think. Running outdoors…

MFP users who are fitness professionals?
I'm looking into making a career change and I've always loved nutrition. Who hear is an actual fitness professional/personal trainer/nutritionist? How did you get started?

23rd: Tuck Jump Burpee
I have to admit, this is my least favorite jump of all time. But what doesn't kill us makes us stronger right? At the end of the burpee, finish with a tuck jump. Where you bring your knees up to your chest. Keep your head forward and shoulders back.
-
22nd: Star Jump Burpee
Time to shine with the Star Jump Burpee! Replace the squat jump at the end with a star jump. Explode up, jumping your feet wide apart, arms up, and quickly bringing everything back in for the landing.

21st: Pull Through Burpee
If you don't have a dumbbell grab anything small but heavy You’re going to want a somewhat heavy weight. Make sure you’re on ground that will allow the weight to slide. Start off with it beside you, do your push up Reach underneath, grab the weight and pull it to the other side of your body. Repeat in the opposite direction

2nd: Standard Burpee
The one we all know: The Standard Burpee. No excuses. You can do it! Start standing, squat all the way down to the ground, jump feet back and do a push-up. Thrust your feet back to your hands and explode up to the sky.
-
1st: The Hurpee
Do as many Hurpees (half Burpee) as you can on the 1st of every month. The Hurpee is simply a burpee but without a push-up. Some people call this a full burpee… it’s not. To be called a burpee, it must include a push-up.

Ideas for fitness goal?
Back story: A year ago I was in a much better place fitness wise: I was running 8-10 miles during the week. To celebrate my birthday I decided to up it and ran 1 mile for every year I was alive. This came out to me running 26 miles over the course of 5 days (5.2 miles a day). Since then I've had a crazy year and a lot of…

Setting up a home weight room
I have a barbell and plates ranging from 2.5 lbs to 25 lbs ( I can put over 100lbs on the bar at a time- being a girl I think that's enough to start with), and am looking online for a bench. Just curious if anyone else has a home gym and what sort of equipment you have in it. Also if anyone know's of a good bench brand or…

Staying motivated while lifting alone?
I know I just have to put my big girl panties on and dig deep- but does anyone have any advice on how to stay focused and motivated while lifting alone? I used to go to the gym and had no problem staying on point and moving at a good speed from one lift to another. Now I lift at home and find myself seriously struggling…

Seriously easy way to make Alfredo Sauce healthier
I believe that every bit helps. If you have the calories and MACROs to eat regular Alfredo sauce then enjoy it! But if you want the flavor of Alfredo sauce, with half the fat, less calories, and a little more protein; this is a perfect way to do it. Very simple way to make Alfredo sauce healthy- while keeping it's…

Female just starting out- Help!
My biggest question is: Is it possible to gain muscle without a gym? I've lifted before (with good results) but it was at a gym with all the barbells, dumb bells, and machines I could want. Not to mention the guys in the weight room always willing to help me move plates and ideas on different ways to work muscle groups.…

She can't get enough of my meat!
I make meals for everyone (as I'm psychotic and like to control my food) and will leave the left overs in the communal fridge and they've been safe there. My roommate recently started working out with me and now, whenever I go to the fridge she's eaten my protein. Before it would happen once a week, now it's almost every…

Cellulite!
(( This is not my work but an article I read and wanted to share http://gokaleo.com/2013/03/06/cellulite-its-time-we-all-just-get-the-hell-over-it/ there is a link to the whole article )) I’m not sure there is a trait that is used more ubiquitously to shame women than the presence of cellulite. Listen folks. Cellulite is…

From 130 to 130
I'm not at my goal yet; I hope to lose more body fat and gain more muscle. I just wanted to share my progress photos as a reminder for everyone that what weight you are isn't important. If you've been eating right, and doing your exercise but the number on the scale isn't moving then toss it out and look in the mirror.

Healthy microwave choices ?
I'm going to be staying in a hotel/traveling for 4 days coming up and am looking for healthy food ideas. Really anything better than cup noodles would be appreciated. The hotel room is bare minimum: microwave and mini-fridge. So things that are shelf stable would be ideal.

How did you make your abs? In the kitchen or the gym?
Anyone who's looked on Google about how to get flat abs has seen the line: Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym. Or the line: Abs are 90% what you eat 10% what you do. I'm just wondering from anyone on MFP who actually has defined/cut abs- how did you get yours? By eating a certain way, or exercising a certain way? I'm…

What do you do for comfort/coping?
I think most of us on MFP used food a lot to deal with our emotions or to cope with a situation. And probably used food as a form of comfort as well. My question is: what do you do now?

Too young for exercise?
My son's are 5, 4 and 6mo. We live a healthy lifestyle and are encouraging our children to do the same. I was talking with someone about my 4 year old and they were appalled that he did 'Wall Sits'. I explained its not an everyday occurrence but that once a week or so we do all sorts of exercises with the boys: Push Ups,…

Getting out of a Plateau
Before whenever I hit a plateau I would tighten down on my eating by cutting out refined carbs (lowered my daily intake of carbs to 106g from 120g, complex/whole grain only), cut down on fats, and upped my protein. This time around that doesn't really seem to be helping. I've recently upped my calories from 1200 to 1300…
